One time i was at the local arcade playing ddr. After about a hour i went to take a break i came back about 1/2 hour later. I went up and started playing. These 4 freaky looking kids come in and sat down on a racing game machine and watched me. They kept on saying up down left right and you suck a lot. So when i got done playing my song i forgot what it was. I went over to them and i said hey y dont get your asses up there and see how good you can do. They weren't to happy they were like you suck and everything and i gave one of them a doller to play the game. He goes up and he failed a beginner song. I said you think i suck look at you. Then they get mad and told the manager on me. Good thing is that the manager is best friends with my dad. he didn't do anything he laughed and walked off. So the 4 kids walk off. They never showed up since that day.

There isn't really a problem of people making fun of players, players get a lot more respect where I play. They see me doing Saints go Marching, CSFILSM, even freckles, and you can see their jaw drop and eyes widen.

seems like non players respect the people who play :-/

Yeah same here. Nobody messes w/anybody playing... ever. If they're players, they wait their turn, talk w/other players, whatever else. If they aren't, they just watch and/or ask a few questions. I've never seen someone get disrespected for playing DDR.

I hate it when people sit there and mess with your level while you're trying to choose a song.

I have a question, not to start an argument but, What's the big deal with people playing barefoot? Is it really disgusting or something? I play all the time, but it's not because I want to--I just don't own any tennis shoes, and I have no money to buy any for awhile. I do hate, however, when people complain that their feet hurt afterwards or they're going to get blisters in the morning. >.<

When people choose the same song 12309849028 times because they 'like' it. THEN GO PLAY IT AT HOME!! >.<

When people leave their trash. I don't like picking up their crap and--I don't even work at the arcade! I can't until I'm 21! *is only 17* XD

When people say they don't like it and when you ask if they've tried it, they're all like, 'No'. Wtf!? >.<

That is all. XD

Most arcades ban bare feet (and many have signs on the machines saying something like "clean, dry footwear must be worn at all time -- no bare feet, socks, sandals, slippers, or high heels") because of liability issues of people cutting their feet, bleeding on the pads, and spreading diseases to other users of the pad. Even if you don't wind up cutting your foot on the metal, it's still quite likely to give or get Athlete's Foot or other infections. Also, sweat and foot grime working its way down under the panels will gum up the sensors. Shoes don't neccessarily solve this because they often have grime of their own that'll wind up getting ground into the pad, but it's better than nothing.

People who jump on the machine and f**k around while you're picking your song. First, they are just plain rude. Second, (and this has happened to me before) they might inadvertantly activate mods you dont want without them (or you) realizing it.

^ Yeah, thats why I use pennies instead of tokens or quarters. That way if I do have my penny stolen (which it has been by many children), I dont really care. I still yell at them, though. Because I like yelling at kids, because they suck.

Edit* TEH ZOMG IM A TRIK MEMBAR LOLZ

The whole 'token-being-stolen' happened to me in Florida. This guy got off and there were like 4 tokens on the machine, and he picks em up and starts to leave. XD
My MOTHER yelled at him (I was surprised she knew what a coinline was), and then this kid that worked at the MIB ride that was there made him hand them over. And I was up next.
Ok, onto the things that annoy me.

1) Yes, I hate when people do not know what a coinline is.
2) I hate it when little kids go up and pick your songs, or stomp on your arrows. I ask them to stop nicely a few times, but after the third time, I turn around and say, 'knock it off,' and their mothers end up hootin' and hollerin about how they don't know better.
3) My friend does it, but I don't like when people play with bare feet.
4) I hate when people shadow you without asking you or just kinda in the middle of a song.
5) I hate it when people laugh at you because you miss a couple steps, or you got a C on Love-heart-Shine on Heavy. But when they go up there, they fail on beginner.
6) I hate it when ONE person keeps putting in tokens when they can CLEARLY see other people waiting to play (there's a guy at the arcade I go to that does that).
7) When people hold onto the bar that aren't playing. I need to use it and their hand's on it.
8) Again, when people try talking to you while you're playing.
9) When they mess with your difficulty and/or pick a song you don't want and don't hold the damn button long enough to go to the options menu.
10) Again, when people stomp and/or play in boots. The arrows don't need to be broken, thank you very much.
11) And this actually happened to my friend Vicky. They just replaced the DDR Extreme at the arcade with an In The Groove 2 (needless to say I was upset), and one of the arcade employees was on the machine. He put his key in, jiggled it around, and got free games. My friend was standing behind him the whole time, rubbing her coins together to see if she could get his attention, and then she finally asks him if she could go, and he lets her on. But as soon as she got off, he got back on.

Heres what I cant stand in the very least

Shadowing while your doing double and you have no choice but to push them off before they screw you up, if they havent already.

Holding on or resting on the bar while your playing

WALKING INBETWEEN THE PAD AND THE MACHINE WITHOUT EVEN SO MUCH AS A SORRY OR ATTEMPT TO DUCK frust.gif

Machines whose coin door slots are jammed or suck badly

Parents who could care less about what their children do or get into, ie, crawling inbetween your feet while your playing (this happened to me last night, tripped over a little 2 year old who wandered away from her stroller, climbed up on the board right in between my feet, nearly landed on her, banged my head on the trick bar instead, parents got mad at ME, telling me I need to watch what im doing. I nearly lost it, I got so mad at them. )

The Shadowing one happened to me once, I WAS SOOOOOOOO FRIGGIN' PISSED frust.gif I was FCing The Centre of the Heart on Standard!

As for the parents who could care less... I almost kick one kid, luckly I noticed him, and the parents? "Omg, like sooo cute!" disturb.gif
I tell them that it's dangerous to leave the kid in pad while someone playing, they understood and grab their kid outta the pad.
E1.gif
But it happens like every friggin' time I go to play DDR!
disgust.gif

Yet another thing that pisses me off is shadowing while someone is playing in oni mode.

Or when someone is trying to be "OMG I'm soo kewl in DDR" and then fail a song standard laugh.gif

But the #1 thing that pisses me off is people yelling at me because I'm fat.
I'm pretty obese guy, but still I draw a pretty big crowd sometimes (I think I'm the only fat player in my area), and they sometimes applaud me, though, it does not happen often, but it has happened, I get pretty pissed because they won't let me play like I would like to...
frown.gif
Though I don't let get into me, and continue playing, and then they go away.
E1.gif

And for some reason the people yelling at me are like drunk 40 year olds...
<_<

When you do 2 flashing 10s in a row, you'd want a break too.

Anyway, I hate when n00bs use the good machine at our arcade. IMO, they don't need good pads, they play light/standard. It's their fault the pad on the left is failing now. Me and my buddies do PA stomps...they just...stomp.

I hate people who don't understand a coin line.

I hate people who try to converse with me in the middle of an obviously hard and/or tiring song.

I hate people who talk smack, then can't back it up.

I hate people who pass LOM standard, then look around smugly like they just AAA'd Legend Road.

I hate people who bring a "DDR Kit" (token case, towels, windex, water, paper towels, etc), then proceed to fail light mode.

Are you literally insane or do you just enjoy trying to screw with people's heads by making the most mind-boggling incomprehensible statements possible?

DDR Extreme is approaching its 4th birthday, almost everyone's bored with it, and it's impossible to turn around without tripping over yet another damn Extreme cabinet. The graphics look like something from an 16-bit SNES, the songs are mainly recycled from the older mixes that have been brutally driven to near-extinction by the frenzy of mindless Extreme upgrading a few years back, and... you know how after you hear a song a few thousand times, you just can't stand it anymore? Multiply that by however many songs are on there. When non-Japanese speakers have accidentally memorized the entire lyrics of Daikenkai despite never actually playing it, you have a problem.

From what I've witnessed since the release of ITG2, DDR Extreme is now just what people do out of desperation when the line for the ITG2 machine is too long, or in order to warm up their muscles before moving on to the real game, or when they don't have enough money afford access to the ITG2 machine (which generally gets five times as much traffic despite costing up to twice as much or more per song as DDR).

You just don't know how good you have it. Those of us who don't live within easy driving distance of an ITG2 machine would not hesitate to slit an innocent person's throat or steal candy from a dying child if doing either of those things would somehow result in getting an ITG2 machine within 50 miles of our homes.

People give no thought to driving 2, 3, 5, or even more hours to visit the nearest ITG2 machine, perhaps several times in a week. I wonder, when's the last time anybody made trips like that for DDR Extreme? "Hey Ma, let's hitch up the buggy and see if we can make it to the DDR machine in New Podunk by Wednesday!" "Naw, Cletus... donthca remember that Uncle Jethro's got five of them damn things sitting in his front yard, in-between the rusted-out pickup trucks and the coon dogs?"

Needless to say indeed.
