I don't have either of the mod kits, so I can't comment on the height difference, but since the black replaces the lexan, you can always put the lexan on under it for an even greater height difference. Just be sure to menion when you order it that you want the kit not to be installed, or ask them to make sure to include the 5 lexan panels.

The ITG2 decals are made by us. You can save the panels to a memory card and bring it to a photo store and have them print them out as 11"x11" pictures to put under the panels.

The v1 is the older model, which has recessed screws and the center panel does not function. The v2 has screws that stick up and a functioning center panel, and the start and select buttons were moved to the control box. There is also a rare 1.5, which is the 1.0 with screws that stick up and a few differences in the cord. The easiest way to tell is by a picture. The v1 will have the start and select buttons on the bottom left and right panels, and a different center decal. At cobaltflux.com, the pads on the left are v2s, and the pad on the right is a v1.

I just ordered my CF about 15 minutes ago, with the clear arcade mod w/ type 2 brackets hopefully pre-installed. TOTAL PRICE INCL. SHIPPING: $381.02 WTF?!!?! oh, well... It'll probably be worth it. I will be replacing the original decals with ITG-themed ones, so I was pondering: Do I need to have them printed on a certain type of paper? I also wanted to know how I go about checking my est'd date of arrival. Since my RO Ignition is all screwed up, I have no idea how I'm gonna pass the time while waiting...

So I'm stuck..........used cobalt flux that someone says is only a couple months old (and whyyy are they selling it?).........or waiting forever to buy a new one while my afterburner sits at home dead. Life sucks when you're poor.

Most people say you can't kill a cobalt flux if you try though so shouldn't the used one be safe? I mean, I doubt these people ran it over with an suv, heh. But there's probably other things they could've done to ruin it. Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, I dunno.

You really can't do anything to kill one that wouldn't fix it. Worst somebody could do it it would be to cut some of the wires, and that's fixed pretty easily. Unless the cleaned it with steel wool or something, any problems with the used one can be fixed. Most you might have to do is spend $30 more for a new control box on it.

Here's the CF getting run over, and then used to play Holic. (It's a DivX vid, so you'll need the DivX codec.)

The pad is like $300 and shipping is like $45 or $50. You have to buy the arcade mod you know.

I got my numbers confused; it's supposed to be $381.40 (as if 38 cents would cause you to go bankrupt or something). But more importantly, my flux should be arriving on wednesday. HUZZAH! It's a good thing, too, because my RO ignition 2.0 just died out a few hours ago. Meanwhile, I guess I'll pass the time building Sinistar's xbox cbox, because I just happen to have 2 xbox-only MC dance pads lying around.

Got my CF today and it came with an extra set of lexans. I wish I could just buy the brackets for the arcade mod seperately and use those instead of buying the 25 plus shipping mod. Either way I'll be taking it home to test it shortly. Wish me luck. Ebay hasn't failed me yet, heh.

I can't believe I did it. I finaly ordered a flux! After wasting $200 in soft pads (granted, two were PIU pads, and you know how expensive those are for soft pads), I finaly told myself to get it. My wallet is really hating me, but I keep telling it I'm saving money in the long run. riiight.gif;;

Granted, my order is put in, and it would seem like to much trouble, but could you use the DDR mod for PIU? Just reverse the placement of the panels? I doubt I do it, since I plan on playing DDR, ITG, and PIU equally, but just a question (FYI, I'm more PIU then any other game). Yes, I know the flux wont work with PIU on PS2, but there's StepMania, which may not replicate the scoring system accuratly, but allows me to play the songs at least. If I can A a PIU song on Stepmaina, that would equal a insane score when I go to the arcade. ^^

Okay, done with my rambling. Now, I just have to wait. I just hope I get the pad within two weeks, before classes start back up in college. Another 15hrs of credited fun.

Sometime this fall Cobalt Flux is releasing a new control box that will allow PIU support for the PS2.

Regardless of what kind of cbox they give you, I have found that CFs are no good for playing Pump It Up. The panels at the arcade are shaped differently; they are rectangular, not square. If you are a PIU expert, then you will have trouble with this.

I am aware of the three inch difference between the squares (pump is 11x14 while DDR is 11x11, right?). It should be fine. I didn't get it for the soul purpose of pump, as I mention in my first post. If I can play pump singles on it decently, that's all that matters to me (for the pump side of things, ITG and DDR will probably get more play on the flux since I play Pump at the arcade a lot. I spend about $10 a week there. And thats only going one to two times a week. riiight.gif; ).

i got this pad last week and it works fine. the only complaint is that the wooden bottom is bowed down so that the pad rests almost entirely on that point, which means while i play, it spins around like a top. any suggestions, similar experiences or help in general would be appreciated.

Email [email protected] about that, the pad isn't supposed to be like that and you might be able to exchange it. I rarely play on a flat surface (I've brought them other places but I mainly play on carpet) and both of them are completely flat. It sounds like my RO metal pad, except that thing was more warped than the ITG disk that got mailed to me. When I stepped on the left arrow, the right side of the pad would raise a good inch or so.

I forgot to mention, I got my CF at 2:50PM 2 days ago. The arcade mod I ordered, Clear, Type 2, was preinstalled, and feels close enough to the arcade for me not to complain. They even used 2 separate lexan panels instead of one really big one. The xbox cbox I made (sinistar's design) while waiting actually worked. I AAA'd Dream a Dream (Max2) as my second song. Huzzah. My only dissapointment with this pad is that the sensors aren't really responsive near the corners because of the screws and velcro. That's it. And fedex left it lying against my garage door for 30 min. before I realized it was there. I don't regret buying it one bit because I know that every other pad has even bigger drawbacks and won't last half as long.
