I can barely read what they said. I think they said something about a bar and cheating. I think... _________________

Actually, he said something about not using a bat, which makes even less sense... |

I use a bar on stepmania.. on like LoM and Max 300
its frickin gay to play with your fingers and thats it.
Buy an adapter and create your own "arcade style" game.
I have a full paddable mix with awesome steps of 1830 songs. 220 courses I made.
So... what have we learned? Stepmania is a DDR sim... it means Dance Dance Revolution. Keyword: Dance. Not beat the crap out of your keyboard... if you wanna do that.. buy beatmania.
but no.. its not bad to use the bar.. just like DDR _________________

Key Key Revolution(ROFLE WITTY) helps you understand the steps better before/after you play them so you help get a feel for the song.
It also passes the time when you don't have time to break out the pad and get all sweaty. If you want to bitch about finger players, that's just retarded in it's self. Their computer, their download, their setup.
It's funny that you completely contradict your signature's statement with your post, as it is the choice of the player on how they choose to play.
Look at Stepmania Online for christs sake, half the players there ONLY play keyboard. Keyboard and Community Megapacks. Any of arch0wl or Reach's shit.
I play both, so it doesn't matter to me, but leave bitching about other players setup to yourself, because it just starts flame wars.

Now to answer the question: I use a makeshift bar by placing a chair behind my CF when I play, and it's great on songs like Remember December or LoM. I try not to use it when I play <9's though to help out with stamina. _________________

Well, I WOULD play on pad more often if I had a decent one and an adaptor. Getting back on topic, I would only use the bar on some 10 footers and above. |

1) How many people do you think have a bar on their home pad? And how many of those use stepmania? Not many; if you really want to discuss bar use, it's better done with regards to arcades.
2) Making the game easier is cheating? I'm not advocating use of the bar, but that's a silly statement.
3) If you must discuss the topic, take it here.
4) Spelling, punctuation, and grammar will help people take your posts more seriously. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but your glaring disregard for the rules of all three is really annoying. _________________

Well.. my sig wasn't meant to be serious x.x It's a quote from something.
DJX, the average metal pad owners have bars because alot of them own the cheap crappy TX-2000 and such. Well.. they ain't THAT crappy, but still pretty bad.
Thought most DDR players don't even have a metal pad.. and about 1/4 of the people who own metals own Cobalts.. another 1/4 is redoctane metals.. the other 2/4 are TX-2000s and such. But that isn't an official census.. just what I've gathered from reading. _________________

It's also totally useless, as you cannot get actually good using two fingers on the same hand. |

Keyboard Stepmania is actually kind of fun... it's really good for airplanes & airports & other situations where getting up & dancing would be either impossible or inappropraite. It doesn't really compare to the real thing, and it's a lot easier (once you've gotten a bit of practice) because things like crossovers are rendered meaningless and because you have a lot more fingers than feet... but it's still fun. I can pass a few 10's on Stepmania with fingers (Bag, plus the 10's from Disney Mix that don't really count), whereas at the arcade the only songs I've dared to try on Heavy are all 5's and 6's. _________________

I can clear a lot of 10+ songs with my index and middle fingers on one hand. Just because you can't do it, it doesn't mean no one can. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

I find it really hard to imagine that half of the people that own metal pads own TX-2000s. There are a lot of metal pads out there, and very few come with bars attached, and the TX-2000 gets mostly negative reviews on the board. I can't say I know for sure, but that doesn't change the fact that we're asking how many people use the bar for Stepmania, which as many people only play with their hands as play on a pad. _________________

I sometimes get the bright idea to try and pad a song for the keyboard, like Burning Heat (Full Option Mix). I got a D on it. I'm all about padding. Hell, I can beat people on HVAM (me padding, they fingering). Go figure. _________________

Fury of the Storm. Videotape it. I must see someone try that. Extra points for freestyle. |
