People might be interested in this, from an email I recieved this morning:
Dan,
We understand your frustration and it is perfectly legit. It has been
five months since we have completely been out of stock. We have had
small shipments that have gone out to customers but not large enough to
keep stock. The next mats we stock will be 3-in-1 mats. Unfortunately,
we do not have a date for when these will arrive. The problem that we
have had is that we are currently in a "battle" with our material
supplier. We had a very large shipment of mats delivered to Israel
(close to 10,000) that had material (the thin foam layer that is sewn
inside the mat) that was sub par to what we normally carry. This
"battle" has led to a stalemate between our material supplier and us.
This should be resolved soon, but then we have to deal with overseas
ocean freight transit times, which means it will be at least 4-5 weeks
before stock arrives.
Thank you for your input. We know that our reputation has significantly
gone down over the past months. We don't know if we can repair it, but
once we receive stock, we do have plans to make it up to our customers
(significant price decrease and all will receive the 3-in-1 mat).
So, while it still sucks that they're out of stock, this is the first explanation I've heard as to *why* they're out of stock - they recieved a lot of bad product and chose to fight their supplier instead of give it to us (we should be so lucky, *cough*Afterburner*cough*).
I may still end up buying a RedOctane but hopefully this is a better sign of things to come...

Thanks for posting that, dokool. I find the situation kind of hard to believe (10,000 pads shipped to Israel?), but at least it's some kind of explanation and I suppose stranger things have happened. And it's cool that Level Six is fighting the downgrade in quality, unlike everyone else who just took it and kept selling the pads at the same price. Maybe Level Six pads are more different that I give them credit for. |

I assume they assemble them in Israel and ship'm to the states.
My friend had a LevelSix - he played the hell out of it, so by the time it was trashed he was good enough to play on a CF. I've tried the BNS DX and I don't like how the top is shiny plastic-type stuff that socks easily slip on, so I'm hoping to get a matte-style pad. |

i got a foam pad that looks exactly like these about a year ago only mine was multisystem compatable for PS2, Xbox, and it came with a USB port for the xbox input(it had a breakaway style end) on ebay. It looks the same and the foam was actually harder than the redoctane 2.0 foam! But the thing was, it being an ebay product, is it wouldnt work right on XBOX/PC, but on my PS2 it works like a charm. I actually prefer it to the redoctane, and i got it new on ebay for $32 with shipping! But even i am not sure what brand it is, so i decided to see if it was one of these "levelsix" pads. It has a sticky top that doesnt make a difference as long as you play with socks, and the material on the top seems impossible to rip! After a year, the only thing that has happened to it is one of the arrows got a dent in it(its not really a rip, because its just a huge dent on one of the raised arrows) because i brought it to a friends party and someone started playing with shoes on. But i still say its the best pad for the money i can think of. _________________

i doubt levelsix will revive anytime soon (or ever)
better off betting your foam pads elsewhere |

But what foam pads besides these don't suck? I mean suck as in "break in a week." Don't tell me red octane. _________________

After 3 years of hard use, my LevelSix Ignition 2.0 pad is finally on it's last leg due to torn buttons. The pad is still very responsive, but I feel it won't last much longer since the circuitry is exposed.
I have to say I have been more than pleased with my purchase of this pad (well worth the $45) and I was disappointed to find out these pads are no longer available.
I have decided to go ahead and purchase a cheap alternative Ignition pad (not spending $70+ on a RedOctane or BNS Ignition pad).
Here is the pad I just purchased on eBay ($26 / shipping included):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&item=230010538111&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
It comes with a 1 month warranty, so if it isn't responsive or tears within that time, I'm sending it back. It's not a problem that it doesn't come with a hard foam insert because I still have mine from my current LevelSix pad. |

I bought a Deluxe Ignition Dance Mat for XBOX. The cable is way too short and the cable cannot be extended as most XBOX controllers. Is there an extension cable that fits the dance mat? |
