What do I need to do to make my keyboard's UDLR arrows to register 3 and 4 keys simultaniously? For ITG songs for example.

Yep. Arrow combinations that include more than 2 buttons pressed on your arrow pad of a keyboard (except for left+down+right) is undetectable by a computer. Like said above, youll have to switch your key settings to a different layout.

Not always. It depends on the keyboard. Mine won't register more than 2 (except for the one you mentioned), but my grandparents' keyboard can do it fine.

But yeah, the best way to get around it is to use the numberpad. It takes some getting used to, but eventually you get just as good at it as you are with the arrow keys.

^ Ohhh, what model is your grandparents keyboard? I might go out and buy it if it registers 3+ keyhits. nerd.gif

Actually, that dosent matter anyway. Depends on the keyboard itself, or the computer, not the model. 2 of the same model can differ.

My old Dell Packard Keyboard can do it on numpad just fine. But my Dell 04 keyboard sucks at it. So does my e-machines board. It's strange. I'd find what you're comfortable with as spread.

Wow. After I found out I couldn't use UDLR, I was dissapointed enough. Now I tried 8456 and 1235 and neither of them can register quads. E18.gif Spread sounds like it's gunna be a bitch.

Yeah, I started messing around with my laptop, seeing what registers. I managed to get Left Down Right to register and Up Down Right to also register. Oddly enough the WASD form does not work for my laptop, go figure (though its old as dirt, heh). E15.gif

Uh, no

Models of keyboards dont generally vary between Triple/Quad compatability

One factor can be Numlock. Try turning it off and see if your computer is accepting the trips and quads

If it doesn't then, it likely never will- so either learn a new method or buy a new kb. If you got a few bucks to toss around get a logitech elite kb. It's a nice board- not wireless (wireless obviously = suck for SM), it has media controls on it (unlike that saitek thing) it makes good clicking keysounds, and it handles quads with no problem

I hear some people doggy about it cause logitech's customer support is ..not really existant; and aparantly the shift key gives people problems, but I dont have any issues

Makes you wish they just made some kind of SM keyboard =/

Just cheat it, don't hit all 4 at the same time, hit two and then the other two, like what you can do in the arcade, hat is what I do E4.gif

its easy to do it without actually hitting them at once... just make sure you slide to the other arrows in less than 10 milliseconds
