the instrument featured in Tsugaru (and more prominently in the remix) is a chinese (or generally asian) stringed instrument called the Pipa...it might be a variant, but the instrument you hear there and in kung-fu movies is basically a pipa...it's kind of like a pear-shaped-bodied guitar with a whinier sound to it.

I can play the Moonlight Sonata on the piano. That means I can play M. And max 300 on trombone or piano, as well as Arthur Pryor's The Blue Bells of Scotland...but that's a different story. If you download finale notepad, it can transcribe midis into scores. There's some bank of DDR midis on the internet, i can't remember what it is though.
