The ULTIMATE Bpm finding tool!

I thought about the idea of checking DDRUK's Officials and checked out some tools for determing BPMs. I wanted to have a tool that would let me be sure of the determined BPM, I wanted to have a tool that could give me perfect values.

These are the common tools used by simfile creators:

Xstep:
What should I say about this one? I don't think that someone would be good enough to determine a really accurate BPM with this tool...

Mixmeister BPM Finder, DancingMonkeys and other Automatic BPM tools:
Nice and fast, but not accurate enough.

Maths:
Good, but too much work. It's very tricky to detect BPM Changes at the right places, so that many mistakes are made then.


I found Acid Pro 5, it has an integrated Beatmapper utility which is awesome!
You can set an Offset and the BPM, then it divides the whole song into measures. It's very important that you set the Offset so that you see some sort of wave that is present in the whole song. Bass or Drum waves are the best choice.
You can zoom in and scroll between the measures. If the BPM is slightly off, you will slowly see the Bass or Drum Wave drifting left or right, depending if your BPM is too low or too high. You can adjust the BPM on the fly with your mouse, just drag it into the direction you need to have it.
With this tool you have accurate BPMs for Songs with constant BPMs in no time. Songs with BPM changes are still a lot of work, though.

Here is an example how extremely accurate this tool is:

The Song that has been chosen is 1998, it has constant BPMs.
You can see the first and the last measure with two different BPMs:


1: 150 BPM




2. 150.005 BPM





You can clearly see the difference although it is just 3ms for the last step.
Well, I would definately call this tool the ULTIMATE syncing tool!

i just got acid pro 4; how can i open beatmapper?

edit - nvm easy just open a song! but its not very acurate... it gets off a little at the end theres no way to be perfectly percise. oh well... dancing monkeys works well to make the sm file then u can edit that in SM! lol

There's a difference between Acid 4 and Acid 5:

With Acid 4 you can't change the BPMs on the fly. It can be just as accurate as Acid 5 but probably a bit more work.

I just heard that Acid Music Studio 5 has the Beatmapper, too. Costs about 70 Bucks.

I just compared the mp3 and your ogg and luckily both files were absolutely identical.
I guess that almost all files are identical and even if some are not, I hope that the difference isn't that much.
I'm not going to check the MP3s one more time since your oggs have way better quality and I don't understand why DDRUK is not willing to replace them with their MP3s.

Just see it the positive way: I'm assuming that you're using the oggs, too. So you can be sure that my Adjustments are right for them and don't have to check them twice
