I have heard of the term FS, i have seen it on DDR and PIU.

Freestyle, still, isn't "OMG lets dance like the girls in the videos!", the dancing is better then that. Honestly, it is still Arrow smashing if you are freestyling.

Well, DDR, PIU, and ITG are "arrow smashing" games. In order to beat the song, you must "smash," or press in other words, the arrows. I agree with many hardcore PIU players that the PIU setup is for more of a "real time" freestyle dancing, than DDR and ITG is. There is always a controversy as to what "Freestyling" actually is. Many DDR and ITG players see it as more of a swinging your arms, doing something that goes with the song. Personally, as a huge PIU fan, I disagree. I believe that an actual "freestyle" is more of what many call "Break Dancing." So, no, PIU is not just "arrow smashing," the real players know that it is more.

I said the game is arrow smashing, not sexy dancing that needs to be whored by some chick who doesnt know how to play the game.
As bakaorochi said, smidget and ddr_kid_1 are taking me too litterally. Most people look at the game in the arcade and think "Wow, its just another game where people step on the arrows".

I am in no way saying Pump is not for freestyling, im saying that it doesnt have to be whored. Oh, and pump isnt JUST freestyling, Nightmare or crazy or what have you (I dont get to play pump much, as no one has it..) exists.
