It's good that there's no announcer. It's distracting sometimes. I guess RoXoR thought the same way about the announcer.

Announcers are bad during the song play, even when he says something good. "200 combo" is shouted and I get all excited and miss the next step or two.

Announcing AFTER the song should still be there, though. "Your steps are a-MAY-zing!" Of course, I never get to hear that much anyway.. E2.gif

Most players (including myself) just tune out the DDR announcer to the point where we don't even hear it. If you were to ask me after I play a DDR song to name one of the things that the announcer said, I wouldn't be able to tell you anything. Subsequently, I don't feel very strongly either way as to whether or not ITG should have an announcer.

When I first started playing ITG, I missed the announcer ( I liked him saying stuff, besides getting boo'd that pissed me off frust.gif ) Then played ITG for a few months and forgot compleatly about him. Now when ever I go play DDR (very rare now a days) he always get in my away and is so annoying E4.gif

I think ITG needs;

1. Fun, brighter colors
2. An announcer for some parts

Then i might be motivated to play it. Because right now, the colors are dull, and its just saying blah play me.

I think ITG needs:

1. Better Stepcharts (WHO DESIGNED SOAPY BUBBLE?!?!)
2. For the dev teams not to care when someone wants to make it more like DDR.

Okay that was kind of harsh but yeah, ITG isn't DDR, the arrows are easier to read as they are (and if they aren't you can play Cell). Better stepcharts is a much bigger need then a freaking announcer.

From what I've heard, Baby Don't You Want Me Doubles might be more aggravating. Apparently there's some kind of insanely long freeze arrow. I dunno. You'll have to ask The Chefinator.

Don't care about the DDR announcer, all he does is tell me my combo and that I suck at Extra Stages. Both of these things are very easy for me to see while playing. In ITG I feel the combo counter could stand to be slightly higher, but it's not a big deal by any means. It's just that I visually time so I look very high on the screen to see if I'm stepping early or late (I have no rhythm and can't hear if I'm off but I PA/FA quite well by sight). As for the arrows, I wish they were thinner. They're so bulky it's harder to visually time than DDR for me. Again, a minor quibble. But the announcer? Really, I don't even notice him unless he says, "Can I call you a dancin' master?"

You could make *everyone* happy and make it optional.

Roxor could save on production costs by holding an "announcer pack contest" on ITG/DDRFreak.

Yeah, I didn't much notice the lack of announcer until my mom asked, "Where's the annoying guy who's always almost dazzled?" laugh.gif Of course, she also says that Orion.78 sounds like someone stabbing kittens...

Thank god I'm not the only person who noticed the kitty Holocaust in Orion.78.

But yeah, on my versions of Ultramix, I got irritated with the announcers, so I just disabled them. Thank god they're not in ITG.

Turn on the note skin "vivid" and colors will never be brighter.

yes an announcer for after the song, or while selecting options is ok, but NOT during a song... I'd like to hear "Can I call you a dancing master" on ITG. (Im so close to my first 100% on mellow hard... 3 excellents)

It'd be great if there was a really mean anouncer who insulted the player constantly. He could be like, "Oh wow a B on Pandemonium. I know people who star it constantly without breaking a sweat. You must suck then."

Myst's piracymix did this, but only because the announcer was so insanely bad that it was literally causing people to stop playing the machine.
