Went from 205 to 165 so yeah, I would say it was a good form of excersize. _________________

Height : 6'ft.
Weight Started: 272
Current Weight: 210
Lowest Point: 203
I lost 69 pounds... It's more or less watching what you eat, and playing DDR to help lose weight, because that way, the added excercise will burn fat faster, rather than take... Say... 9 months to lose 10 pounds.
Get yourself a good diet, no candy, soda's, etc, try to watch your carb intake, because too many carbs and sugars turns directly into fat, and is stored.
Eat more meats, more meals, actually, of smaller size. The more meat, and less carbs you intake transitions yourself into burning stored body fat as energy, rather than the carbs. It takes about 2 weeks for your body to make the transition of burning carbs to burning stored body fat.
Oh yeah,... I lost my weight doing this exact thing... And I did it in 4 months.
If you want to burn fat, and not lose muscle, try doing light workouts to keep your muscle mass where it is, go to a gym or something and get a routine to do as you lose weight. It will slow your weight loss process, but rather than losing weight of both muscle and fat, you will simply lose fat. Plus, the extra exercise will help you out.
Outside of DDR, take some initiative, and maybe run a mile every other day or something. Heres the way my routine looked when I lost my weight.
Monday- Run a mile in the morning.
Tuesday- Lift weights (Bench day)
Wednesday- Run a mile in the morning.
Thursday- Squat/Deadlift Day (Lifting)
Friday- Run a mile in the morning.
Saturday- Tone day (lifting)
Sunday- Run a mile in the morning.
Every day, I'd go outside and do 20 short sprints, and MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH!!!
Don't eat before you run, that way you dont already have energy. You can eat before you lift though. My dad's a powerlifter, so I've always been on a program to lift with him... That made the tuesday/thursday/saturday plan easier for me.
I played DDR on a good number of those days, if not every day. Since hten, I've backed down to just Friday and Saturday of DDR... With the occasional other day. Mainly beacuse of ride issues.
Hopefully that helps you and some others! _________________

I haven't lost a significant amount, if any weight playing DDR, but if you are serious about losing weight here's two tips:
A) Consistency, as in excersize everyday, and
B) Variety, as in try not to do just DDR. While it is fun, running, sports and any other cardio workout is good for slimmimg down.
Now that I think about it, I have no credibility on what I've typed...
Height: 5'10"
Weight: about 135 lbs, slowly increasing... _________________

Thanks for the workout plan, I think I'll make some amends to my personal goals, but it's a great start. |
