Well, I've only played at an arcade a handful of times, but my first time at one, I saw this guy dressed in all black, with black hair, and black makeup. He was also really good, he FC'd V Oni at least. He also didn't seem to want to talk to anyone too much.

That's about all I have to say on the topic E1.gif

I know alot of Goths that play.

DDR seems like a game where you can just take your anger and frustration and turn it into cheerfulness.... how ever corny that sounded.

But yeah... why does this really matter?

Goths are people too for God's sake.

I don't find that to be very true...then again, there's not many people at my arcade either. Even if there were, I don't see the relevence.

Of course, you have to think about your definition of goth.

I've seen people in black, baggy clothing with dyed hair playing DDR. I dunno if that counts as goth, though. Maybe they just like that kind of clothing. I found it more notable because their pants were so loose and baggy that they had to hold them up around their waists while they played. o_O

I am a person often in black with dyed hair that plays DDR. I've also seen many people far more goth than me play, so I would say yes.

I have, on occasion, seen 'goth' people play DDR (goth is in '' marks because they are, in fact, people too ya know E13.gif ) and, most of the time, i like it because i get along best with them and DDR. They're pretty cool people ya know. They won't bit your head off or anything........... well, maybe a finger or two, but nonetheless they rock biggrin.gif

I see a lot of kids in Hot Topic clothing (they call themselves goth usually)playing DDR. I don't think it has anything to do with "changing rage into something cheerful". DDR appeals to geeks and teenage losers. This includes goths. Plus, I haven't seen a true-blue angry goth in like ten years.

i consider myself a goth. well, i would be a goth if i could get out of the house with something black on. I like black clothing is all. im not into the whole satan worshiping/emo/hateful/angry stuff. and i dont really like people are all angry and crap. cause, what do they have to be angry about other than their stupid break-ups and groundings for smoking pot?

I'm sure as hell am not goth, people don't recognize me for that.
However they do call me EMO.
That means, I may not fit into the GOTH DDR crowd in the Boston area.

You realize that goths aren't the only group that wear black? Ravers, punks, emos...

Yeah, I hang with these types. I thought they were goth too. I've been called goth, punk, a skater, emo, and a bunch of other things, just because of how I dress. Why can't I wear amazingly overpriced brand-name pants from Hot Topic without being called something? Well, I AM somewhat goth, so there we have it E10.gif.

I can assure you that goths wouldn't sit around with other goths and sing Butterfly, like I do with the other 'goths' in my area. Or CSFIL. Maybe Daikenkai.

DDR just attracts a different audience. And if that audience wants to wear black and pretend to be depressed, let them. Just don't confuse them with others who may actually be depressed, and dress like that because that is how they express themselve, not for shock factor, including me.

EDIT: Caught my broken Quote code E1.gif
