Hmm how do you know they were Canadian and not a Mainer, eh? There are some people around here who can only or just do speak French. I live in the state. It gets hard to tell the difference between Canadians and Maine people sometimes.

Most canadians don't even bother to speak french. I know. I LIVE IN CANADA.

Seriously, I could have sworn that I'd heard that a significant portion of those who purchase the home versions are girls. Maybe girls aren't seen at the arcade as often because they have better, more interesting things to do than hang out in a dark cave of an arcade all day. (Considering how many girls whom I know have a decent cognizance of DDR, but aren't ever at the arcade, that would make a lot of sense.)

Besides, dating through DDR IMHO is like dating through Everquest - perfectly fine, but WHY.

Ah well, I'm much happier single at the moment - every relationship I've been in (none through DDR yet) has caused me all sorts of problems.

I don't think it's that girls have better, more interesting things to do. I know some girls who a.) just don't bother to fuss with arcade versions since arcades are more competitive and they'd like the privacy to learn in their own homes because b.) it involves some sort of physical display of potential humiliation if they fail or get seen in public doing such a thing.

I'm an arcade girl, I haven't seen many others...well, a few asian ones (not to stereotype, that's just what I have seen) and they all kicked.. I don't get to the arcade THAT often, because the only one I go to is the one at Wonderland..otherwise I play at home..none of the boys are flocking to me yet. _________________ ~Sarah~

But you see, this is a specific experience. In the other thread it's just a whole bunch of crap, while this one is target at, i guess, picking up bf's/gf's by playing DDR.

Anyway, I was at this amusement park, and i had this one guy in a wheel chair come up to me and go "If i could do what you can, I'd be set for life." first time it had ever happened to me, so I really didn't know what to say.

My 3rd gf was a DDR chick, pretty cool, later down the road came into some....*sigh*... huge probs, totally turned my love into hatred, same with her too lol. But anyway, we played together. She could beat me on a few songs, like exotic ethnic, But, the final score would be like, 34 greats to 36 or something like that. Really close, but i'd always beat her in the Max's and PS's. I've had some other girls ask me to go out and stuff at the mall, but I want to stay commited to my gf, I don't want to risk losing her.

My 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th boyfriends were all DDR guys. In #5's case, DDR was a cause of hatred, and according to him, I was half the reason he quit. He said I was getting too competitive. Hm. I believe I was for quite a while, but then less after that. I wonder if arcade girls like me should date arcade guys. :\
