Uhm, now that you don't have a v3, I think you have to post in the v2 thread now. E10.gif

Haha, the pad is dead. I played Tsugaru (Heavy) on my pad and had 57 bads. I did it on my friends pad and AAed no sweat. Figures. My pad is dead. I'm calling tomorrow and doggy until they take it back. I think my pad is just defective.

Uh, get unlazy and return it. It'd be in your best interest to do such unless you like a broken $110 pad.

Just return it. It's better then being stuck with a $110 pad that doesn't work.

My v3 is my third pad. I've returned it twice before and now it works perfectly fine. Dude, just return it unless you like wasting $110. If so, mail me $110. I could invest in some stocks with that. biggrin.gif

I've had a ver. 3 Ignition pad for a little longer than a week and like several people on this thread have experienced, I can account for numerous times where I would hit the pad no problem, but I'd still get Boos and Misses. Oh well, maybe it's supposed to simulate the arcade experience. E13.gif

The good news is that I still have my old ver. 2 pad and that I can hook it up to my computer using the USB hook-up that came with the ver. 3. The bad news is I need to find a better driver to use ver. 2 on, because the XBCD drivers don't have support for DDR gamepads. It's a shame, because ver. 2 doesn't have the impairments that ver. 3 does

Yeah, I get that problem once in a while too. I just replay that song over again as it's usuially just a random coincidence that it occurs.

Yes, it is quite the random coincidence. I don't know what my next hit-but-missed step will be, but it doesn't occur that often, which is good.

Either set XBCD to use all digital buttons or hit this page and scroll down to the bit that reads "Dance Dance Revolution Pad Version Windows 98/2000/XP".

You might have to edit an .INF file to add the Ignition 3 USB Device ID into the listing of recognized devices, but that's not too difficult.

I just got my Ignition 3.0 on Thursday and I love it. It works great on all the systems. However, after about a day and a half of play, I started to get unresponsive arrows (particularly the up arrow) and the occasional misfire. I opened the pad up and checked it out, and it seemed that the foam panels caused the misfires. They weren't completely flat and would shift up and down. I thought for a moment and came up with this:

Top of the foam:

Bottom of the foam:

(Yes, it's rather crudely taped, but it works perfectly now)

I duct-taped every seam on the top and sides of the foam, and to keep it from curving, I taped an asterisk * shaped star across all the panels on the bottom. The foam is pretty much one solid piece now, and it doesn’t shift or flex. I Popped it back in and zipped it up, and ever since, it has worked perfectly. I haven't had any problems with misfires or unresponsive arrows. The duct tape has been on there for a few days now and is still working great. The tape can come off without damaging the foam, so it can still be taken apart.

Before you return your Ignition 3.0 for good, try this. It just might work for you too.

Ok, I'm gonna get another pad (since my BNS is sucking some major balls and it's not helping me on ITG) and I got a question...

Did the box for the v3 change in any way? I just don't wanna make the mistake of getting the v2. Do I check the box?

That duct tape mod looks interesting...

The box shows USB support and is blue. It also shows the orangeness of the pad in the picture on the box.
