am i the only one getting the vibe that Roxor is doing this to avoid getting sued for modding DDR's into ITG2's, while also not having to worry about making Boxors? Perhaps that is why PIU wants the name on the game, so that they help out Roxor in business and security, but they get advertisement and a share...

can anyone refute that? i'm not making accusations, just impressions...

That's probably part of the reason. But a lot of people also asked about a dedicated cabinet on the Roxor forums (probably due to operators being uneasy about replacing a DDR).

I really do not like "Pump It Up: In The Groove 2." That's confusing as hell IMO.

The game itself is awesome. That name just stinks.

yup,bad name, great game. (boy that was corny)
anyway, as they call it PIU:ITG2, 97% of us will call it ITG2.

since it's called Pump it Up : In the Groove 2 now
they should do the obvious : make a rap song with repetive lyrics and a catchy tune! Pump it up in the groove, pump it up in your groove! Pump it up in the groove between your a$$ cheeks!

Then they can release the home version next year with the word censored out and replaced with just cheeks... which will make no sense what so ever... laugh.gif

Banya + ITG won't be happening, so it's safe to say that hope can be killed way in advance. Pump's keeping their exclusives on that.

I definetly don't have a problem with the Andamiro bars being spread around. They're better for freestyling and teching(see: bar rape) alike. Especially on double.

If I had to pick one thing I'd like to see come of the merger, it's Team Freevolt collaborating with Roxor on background design, but that probbaly won't happen. It'd sure make for some killer FMVs, though.

Why does everyone keep missing the point that this is NOT a merger? It's a simple business partnership. ITG and PUMP still have nothing to do with one another. Andamiro has NO creative input on ITG, period. All that is going on is that Andamiro is providing cabinets for Roxor's ITG2 in exchange for money and free advertising for PUMP by including the title on the machine. That's not unreasonable for Andamiro to ask, given that Roxor is still their COMPETITION. There was no merger, no buying out of Roxor, no acquisition, and no collaboration on ITG2, period. Namco helped develop Donkey Konga for Nintendo. Did Nintendo and Namco merge? NO!

Why can't it be Andamiro presents: ITG2 or something?

Pump It Up: ITG2 is too wordy, too confusing, and sounds dumb.

I dunno, Pump It Up In The Groove, sounds kind of sexual to me,,,when they release it they will have to edit out the title of the game.

How many people outside of DDR/PIU/ITG fansites know who the hell Andamiro is? Hell, I bet a lot of people don't know who the hell Konami is, but they most certainly know of "Dance Dance Revolution."

Well, that's a tough one to call, Shinmizu, because Konami has many other rather popular games in its arsenal. But I fully agree with your original point about no one knowing Andamiro.

well if they were trying to market this in Korea then yeah sure sticking AM on there wouldn't be a problem... but yeah they are hardly known in the USA... but as far as people recognizing Konami... I know a lot of people who don't know what Konami is and play disturb.gif and I also know a lot of people who think Pump it Up is DDR despite it's title screen saying Pump it Up and it having an Andamiro logo on it... lol

Okay... now I've finally got myself some free time... let's see what I can get done here:

For the dedicated ITG2 cabinet: At last check, the bars WILL be the same style as the PIU bars. And a number of players have played on the new cabinets and have had no problems with the bars so far, to my knowledge.

Where you can buy ITG/ITG2: www.inthegroove.biz is the location for that, IIRC.

Survival Mode: Thunderbird, I dunno what version you saw, but with the one we've got at The Break, it works as such: Start with a given amount of time (~ 1:45 for Cohesion, I believe), and you lose nothing for a Fantasic, 250 ms for an Excellent, 500 ms for a Decent, 1 sec for a Way Off, and 2 sec for a Miss. You get back 120 seconds for passing the 1st song, 115 on the 2nd, and 110 on the third. Granted, things might've changed, but I hadn't heard anything THAT major. I'll have to check it out when I go tomorrow.

The new name: Okay, how many of you people talk about playing "Pump It Up: Exceed" or "Pump It Up: Exceed 2"? Not many, I think. Most people just call them "Exceed" and "Exceed 2". Same thing with ITG. It's not that hard, people!

Frag: Honestly, that does seem like a highly likely reasoning for the deal. However, Andamiro did have a working partnership with Roxor at least at the beginning of March, since the cabinet at ASI the first week of March was an Andamiro design, I believe.

The Andamiro cabinets DO look rather nice, from what I remember seeing. The flatscreens make for a wonderful visual look. As far as the pads go, I'm personally hoping for something that's a got a bit more sensitivity than DDR pads. After seeing Tribal Style Expert Doubles while LSBE was playing Wildside Intense, a few parts of that seem like they might be a definite pain without highly sensitive pads. (read: set of 3 1/16th notes as hands, since they're during a jump-freeze.)

The freeze rolls are NOT that nasty. They require a little speed, but not that much. In almost every song I've seen, they don't need to be done as fast as 1/16th notes, but faster than 1/8th notes. Pretty much think about how some people fool around on DDR and move on and off of freeze arrows without dropping the freeze. Same basic idea, time-wise.

Typical Tropical: Forgot about that... mainly because it never was on any of the versions we had around here. Oops. My bad.

The kit at the Break is a beta, last I heard. Quite a few things have changed, mostly graphically, in the final version. (The machine at Illusionz does not have Beta in the title screen..and Driven is a complete course, not the one song preview that the Break has E10.gif)

KC has thier ITG2 Final and Freeze Rolls are not as hard as you aol are making them sound. Also, Wolfman Jake, I think Andamiro DOES in fact have some say in the game...*Taken from the press release*

"with Andamiro’s co-development support"

I could be mistaken though

me too. and with its obligitory non-stop use, synonymous with ITG, i dont expect the bars to last very long. :-/ hopefully andamario did something to make them more structurally sound.
