well the BEST way to play ddr is with your hands, this trains many muscles and makes you very good at break dancing |

i normally just wear my vans but if you are going to wear shoes at all if you think about it tight fitting (not too tight but tight) shoes are the way to go, they give you more control and plus they usually dont weigh as much, when my metal pad comes in two days i will probally go buy me some good running shoes to use _________________
i own: ddrmax, ddrmax2, ddr extreme, ddr extreme 2, in the groove, red octane afterburner
waiting to get: from what i hear, blueshark metal pads are the best arcade-like pads on the market.. so i want this :] |

like i said before i play in my vans.. I laced them up were they are pretty tight so it gives me a lot of control. I tried playing in my chucks but did horrible and felt like i was falling the entire time. I dont see how people do it!!!one!!!11 _________________

I wear Adio skate shoes, and they are really comfortable to play in, my older brother wears combat boots and well he seems to do fine, and my friend tiffany plays in converse so I guess it's just personal preference to what you're comfortable wearing. When i'm at home I play barefoot at the moment because we don't have metal pads yet. _________________

At the arcade I wear regular gym shoes. I can't really think of anything else to wear.
EDIT: Oh. You guys are saying the brand of shoe. I see. Well I wear Avias and New Balance mostly but I once had this pair of Sketchers that fit me absolutely PERFECTLY and I would only use those for as long as they lasted.
At home I currently play barefoot because I'd slide around too much in socks and my shoes would rip the pad. I actually slid and fell off my pad once with socks on and hit my head on my air hockey table.(and my pad is about a half a foot off the ground and made of wood which made it a pretty awkward, and painful, landing) That was about a year and a half ago and was also when I decided to never play DDR in socks again. When I get a CF I will use my gym shoes though. |

I used to have a sweet pair of skate shoes tha I would alwasy wear but I lost them a while ago. Since then I've been using these new balance shoes that I've worn down to nothing on the bottom. Their great for when I have to make a quick arrow switch. _________________

I wear Nike Kukini's to play. They're really light and you don't get as tired playing with them. I'm dying to get a pair of those Nike "Barefoot"shoes. _________________

I'm with djzmudpony. From what I can tell it looks like nike inadvertantly invented the perfect ddr shoes. A pair of nike free trainers would be incredible. Think I'm going to pick up a pair. Check them out at http://www.nikefree.com |

Wow i'm going to have to try and put in an order for some of those Nikes in the shoe store I work. Those seem amazing...
...but as for me now I wear little boys Vans, the Heath style.
I can't play in Converse anymore, i've gone through 3 pairs that have ripped after excessive play. |

I love my arcade shoes:
Except the laces are black. And it's size 11 instead of that tiny shoe. For some reason they work very well. But my feet hurt after a long day of playing _________________

Well, obviously barefoot on my Ignition 2.0. But once my Afterburner comes, shoes will need to be worn..
And my Converse at the arcade. Duh. What else do I wear. Because playing in Birks is really painful. |
