My cuz gave me a cd with ddr songs. One of the songs was called "m". It sounds like a piano playing really fast and has a classical aura to it. It reminds me of "V (for EXTREME)" and "A". Does anyone know who the artist is? also, if anyone knows, which game did this song come out in. btw, i asked my cuz, but she didn't know either... |

I think the song you're talking about it is one of the Banya songs from Pump it Up, not DDR... |

M was fanmade. It's not an official DDR song. |

I mean, even though "M" isn't a real song, I still would like to have the artists's name in my computer. I was wondering, would Konami accept fan-made songs? |

Surpringly, that helped. It's from DJ Taka, and it's NOT an actual DDR song. |

...because it (somehow) won a contest Konami was holding.
Konami doesn't accept fanmade submissions. It's incredibly rare that it accepts them, being there are 2 known fanmade songs. The other one? un deux trois, whose artist was in touch with Naoki Maeda.
M IS FANMADE. Go look up the name of the real artist at AIJ. |

M is the 3rd Movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
And yes, it IS fanmade, even though it's mistakenly attributed to Taka. Don't believe everything you see in SM. |

M was not made by Taka. Even MP3 tags can be wrong.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Actually, Starmine was a fanmade song. It's in UM2 I think. |

No it isn't. It's by Ryu. _________________

Oh, whatever then. All I know is that I saw it come out on StepMania before it became official. I just assumed it was fan made. |

Lots of stepmakers use music from other Bemani games. It's a quick and easy source of appropriate music of an appropriate length. |

The thing that made my jump to my conclusion was that the same steps that were in the StepMania version were used as the official steps in UM2. |

Starmine originated in IIDX, which also won a contest as well. |

Ryu and KorsK won a musicianship trial back on IIDX 4th Style, for Starmine and Clione (respectively). They both eventually returned (but only Ryu kept doing good stuff ).
STM won DDR 5th Mix's for Paranoia Eternal.
Flare and that other guy won 9th Style's musicianship trial for Lights and Festa Del Sol.
And I think that's it for the "fanmade" stuff in bemani. As far as I know, only IIDX and DDR have done musicianship trials, but obviously some of the songs that won crossed over (Starmine got remixed for Pop'n Music, too).
(Didn't know about un deux trois, though)
PS: M was rumored to be on IIDX 8th Style. I was pissed when I found out it wasn't true. XD |
