Stepmania Extra Stage?!?!

I was playing stepmania today, and i got the extra stage somehow!

I played half of a song, then left for 10 minutes. When i came back, it had just started the 5th stage. I played it and did pretty good. Then i played my last song (cause the last one was a long version) and got a AA. then it tells me, "try extra stage!" in stead of "cleared" at the end. Then, i go to the "extra stage", which is my hardest song (eruption by van halen) on 1.5x, hidden, and reverse.

My question is, how did i get extra stage?

You need to get at least an A on all the songs you play, I believe.

Of course, if you turn Event Mode on you won't ever see Extra Stage since you get unlimited plays.

that couldn't have been my case, all A's, cause i didnt do anything on two songs.

You need to get a AA or higher on the last stage to get extra stage, AA that and you get the encore stage!

well, i AA'd the last stage. so that works.

You get Extra stage and OMES in SM the same way you get them on DDR.

you have to AA a heavy song thats at least an 8 footer to get the extra stage dont you?

I don't think it has to be an 8'er but I'm not sure.

They changed the rules in US Extreme so that you had to AA an 8 footer. All jp games and SM don't need a specific foot rating, however.

I didn't know that people were so clueless about DDR. I mean, if you come to a DDR forum, you would at least know about the Extra Stage, right?
On most mixes, Final Stage+AA=Extra Stage.
Final Stage+AA+another AA=One More Extra Stage (Called Encore on home versions)

i don't know cause i suck to much to AA most heavy songs. I can't perfect attack when i'm actually dancing!

I get it all the time. It happends when I get a AA ont he last song(heavy). I havent payed attention on what I do before that.

im not getting OMES for some reason anymore..i always AA the song it gives me and still nothing... did i mess up a setting in SM?
