Funny, too, it said in that thread that xenon was off beat... are you kidding me. If you clearly listen to the background music, it fits it perfectly. And Ordinary World? OMG.... you need to get your facts straight.... disgust.gif

Uh, yeah, that's a comment about me.
Also, <point to sig> I see that, even with your amazing musical skills and your degree in psycholigy, you still have the total inability to tell time, or grasp the concept of past/present/future.
I love it when people claim to be something they are not.

I thought we were done with the back-and-forth? E19.gif
Also, just to put something down meant for constructive critisizm and an observation, but "HOLY frick" and "You're stupid" ISN'T, in fact, a comeback. It just shows insecurity of being wrong. But, please, don't take this as being an offending comment E7.gif

I posted that before the "back-and-forth" was over.

I've recently learned how badly off-sync My Summer Love is on a MAX2 machine.

Best PA on MAX2: 70+ Greats
Best PA on EX: 1 Great

The fuck?

Also, I don't think D2R is off-sync on MAX2, or if it is, it's to a much lesser extent than on EX.

Cutriss says it's even more off-sync.

Maybe it's so off that it deviates from the music so much that it skips a beat and gets ahead but still on sync. E4.gif

Ha.

I'm really sick of people saying that I Feel is off-sync; there's a bit of chaos but all of the steps are on the correct notes.

if you play on a megamix machine, D2R and hyper-eurobeat are totally sync'd. i had no problems SDGing H-E, and i could've AAA'd it if i didn't make stupid mistakes (i got 7g on my lat run)

Ok... this is my view of songs that are "offbeat"...

I have been playing drums since i was 12 (i'm 18 this May 23rd), been in vocal choir since i was 14, bell choir since i was 15, sung in plays since Freshman year and have been playing DDR since December 2003. As you can see, music, beat and rhythem have been a major part of my life.

Now, whenever my brother plays ddr with me, he always complains that some ddr songs are offbeat. I'm sorry to everyone that disagrees with me, but i don't believe any song is offbeat at all. I notice how every note goes perfectly with each song (Yes, that includes Pink Rose). You may, like i said before, not agree with me, but try to listen to the song and the beats REALLY closely, and soon it will become evident that these beats do, in fact, go with the song. It takes time, but once you understand it, then you'll actually (believe it or not) pass songs better.

I've played cello since age 9, and I have no trouble finding the beat in any song either. Ever DDR step pattern makes some kind of rythmic sense.

Conversely, a friend of mine has played percussion extremely well for a decade and yet has trouble getting the beat on even some standard songs. But she sucks at DDR, so I suppose that doesn't make her a reliable counterexample.

In my opinion, a song I consider off beat is a song that is not "obviously" on beat. The steps matching the beat is meant to help your timing. If you have to listen carefully to catch the beat, it might as well be off beat. Like Get Up 'N Move (standard) on the Playstation version.

And anyone who disagrees with me is a moron.

Ok I used to say that D2R was on-sync. But I have now since learned my ways. There is really only one part of the song that is off-sync. That is the very last part where you have to do the hold jumps. You actually step before you here the instrument sound. Other than that part the song is pretty on-sync.

Truth be told, I say no song is off synch but a lot of steps can be. Example:
Get Me In Your Sight has a lot of steps off of the 1/2 1/4 and 1/8 beat but you can still hit them perfectly by tuning your ears. I could not do this properly until I played DDR Konamix on a controller for a few days while being so SPOILED by the Max series.

to ppl saying bag and burning heat are off sync:
yes, you're right, but these and as couple other songs differ from other offbeat ones in that these have the correct bpms, but since they have triplets in the music and the stepcharts can't have notes that arent on the 8th 16th 32th etc scale. They are just 64th notes that are placed close to where the triplet note should be.

Well, I do feel as though D2R is slightly off-sync, however there are some songs mentioned above that don't seem to make sense. Burning Heat (to my recollection) is not very off-sync, it just has an odd timing. Burning Heat is in 6/8 timing, I believe and something like Holic is in 7/8 timing (very awkward, but not off-sync). So, though some songs may be off-sync, don't think that just because a song has an odd timing that it is off-sync.

It's not off-sync; it's just a shitty song.
