Remember December = Abysmal
Zodiac = ZOMG ARE YOU SERIOUS
Infection = Empty and Uninspired
Remember December Review - When I was playing this on my CF, I was wondering what must've been going through your mind when you incorperated the 89045784 16ths with jumps +551905 16ths. The 24ths (correct me if I'm wrong about the note) were completly off beat and I had a VERY hard time even finishing the edit it was just THAT bad. I don't mean to sound like a complete jerk, but RD was just......no 3/10
Zodiac Review - The Utopia style right steps frustrated me and it seemed like only the up and right arrows made up the first 1/4 of the edit. Steps were insanely off sync in places and I heard some extremely strange rhymes with the assist tick on while playing. I'm STILL wondering what was going through your mind when you put almost 20 32nds in a row for the down and left and right arrows. That looked like Pandy Ex. on blender selected 100 times. Zodiac was ZOMG horrible. 2/10
Infection Review - The whole beginning of the song felt empty and the up and right arrows were overused. The rest of the song felt uninspired. Like someone put it on record and just tapped arrows while watching TV. Some ryhmes were akward and some section were just completely off beat. Also a bad edit. 3.4/10
----------------------------------------------------------------
I'll have my Delirium edit up for review in a little while. _________________

Spending lots of time on edits is what can make them or break them. I'll play Hip Hop Jam when I get the courage to face death in the eye another time. _________________

if you play it correctly, you do not have to double step or double tap any arrows.

cfusion, are you supposed to use your left then right foot on the same arrow for some of those runs? Is that what you were going for?
If you don't understand my question, think of what a lot of people started doing on the end of MAX300 after Yasu's AAA video came out. Alternating feet on the same arrow.
Ditto for the long single arrow runs of CSFIL~SM~.
Is that what you were going for? _________________

yes, thats what i was going for. i got the original idea a long time ago playing celebrate nite on oni and have made a handfull of edits with that kind of step in it since. this is my first edit for itg though, so i wanted to make it a bit more tricky than it seems. every time there is a set of mines is a switch step (other than the end though, which is all mines). with the added mines, it makes it more difficult to get away with doing it any other "standard" way. i always prefer fluid motions to double stepping in songs like this, and its a neat thing that most people wont realize how to do (though, in itg, the mines help). my favorite edit in this style i made for think ya better d and it had a lot of complex turns with the switch stepping and it turned out to be very fun when played correctly. at face value though, the steps for that edit would have been a good 6 or easy 7. _________________

My brother and I both tried it on our CF's and it was HILARIOUS trying to avoid those mines while trying intentionally to the edit the incorrect way. That served for some great laughs. Great edit when done correctly though. 7.8/10 _________________

Well, then, how about my edits?
http://itgfreak.com/edits.php?author=83
They're labeled as though they were "replacement" steps for the corresponding song/difficulty, and are usually intended to be of similar difficulty, though they're often quite different in style.
EXPERT:
Da Roots - Follows the violin quite closely most of the time, harder than the normal expert steps.
July - Follows the piano and synth parts the best I could. Less tiring 1/16ths, but more complex rhythms, turns and mines
Kagami - This one is... kind of strange. I like it more than the real expert steps, but less than most of my edits. :?
Mythology - Feels more like a 10 to me, and less like "have some jumping... whoops, suprise 11 rape!"... still lots of runs at the end, though
Remember December - I just had an idea of "What if the 'gibberish' parts had 'gibberish' steps ala EotC?" and then "Isn't double-stepping hard with mines?" >
Touch Me - Basically, it's just a bit harder than the normal expert steps... I guess. :S
HARD:
Euphoria - One of my favorites. I basically just followed the rhythms in the melody closely, but removed steps that were too difficult for a "hard" chart.
July - Similar to the above, but with July.
Pandemonium - Harder than most of my expert edits, heh. Follows the music pretty well, but I think I kind of fudged a few parts.
Walking on Fire - Follows the music a lot more than the original hard chart. Occasionally, I sync to weird background sounds to throw you off.
While tha Rekkid Spinz - Follows some of the simpler rhythms, and embellishes a bit. Fun. Might be tough for a 7 though? :S
Zodiac - Sort of a "training" edit. Follows the music, but focuses on a lot of different techniques one at a time.
So, yeah! Give 'em a try.
T-Bone: I gave a look at a lot of your songs, but I think I'll review them as a whole.
Your rhythms sometimes seem to follow the music well enough, but a lot of the time notes are missing, offset, and so on. (For example, in your Remember December edit, almost everything in the triplet section was off.) Your runs are uninspired, often having a lot of repetition of two arrows, intermingled with a lot of mindless and very difficult turning or double-stepping. Your usage of mines and hands is haphazard, and there's no reason for those inane 1/64th note mine-piles you seem to be so fond of. They also tend to vary widely in difficulty, with long slow portions intermixed with 1/16th double-stepping, or other craziness like that.
cfusion: Your edit is very interesting, and makes use of its concept well, and doesn't let that get in the way of the music, IIRC. Nicely done. _________________

Ok, can someone give my edits a try and review them here? I currently only have my freshly made Kagami 12 block edit uploaded. However, I'd like to get some early feed-back.

I haven't had a chance to play it, but it looks a lot like the normal Expert steps... and thus has a lot of the same problems. Also, looks more like an 11 than a 12, even with the run-from-hell during the slowdown. _________________

It mostly follows the same beat the Expert steps do because I couldn't find anything in the background to follow. I was thinking about making the entire slowdown a run-from-hell but it would've been rediculous. I'm not sure about these "problems" you talk about. 98% of the steps flow directly into the next, with a few crossovers here and there. There are some flow-breaks, but they are minor and still easy to get to. I'm not sure about it being a 12 either. I'll re-difficulty it later on today after I play it at the arcade and see what I think. _________________

Just like you said, it's hard to find actual rhythms to follow in that song. :S I tried for my "expert" edit, but there were some parts where I just couldn't find anything. _________________

Well, here are MY edit steps, give 'em a try:
http://itgfreak.com/edits.php?author=151
Also note that, yes, My edit for The Game does have a rapid fire "hit 16th's with your hands" part in it. Oh, and I'm going to take out the some of the horrible hand parts in that one and replace them with something else.
But, tell me what you think. _________________

That LOTRS edit actually wasn't bad at all. There were still some strange rhymes and hard to get to steps during 16th runs. But it wasn't really a factor. I did like the HotN style step jumps with mines part. And I did enjoy this edit while I played it.
