How do you add another machine to the machine locations page? I can't find a link or anything.

http://www.ddrfreak.com/locations/locations.php?action=displayState&stateID=1

There is a large button that says "Submit New Location" at the bottom.

Perhaps someone should make a FAQ sticky regarding the basic outlines of how the Machine Locations feature works?

-_-

So they can ignore it and ask anyway?

At least it'd be a place where we can point the 2349739847239847329847329843 threads that could be made about it.

"Check the forum sticky at the top. Locked"

Would be much more easier then repeating yourselfs on how you do "x".

Perhaps we can convince people to read the Machine Locations page. Then they'll see the button they are looking for, and no thread will be needed.

If they can't read one page, why expect them to read another?

No new machines have been found in Alabama. To submit an existing location, click on "Submit New Location" below.

Wow that must be hard to comprehend

Link please?

We need to know the game exists (and what it is) before we'll add it. MTV's Music Maker (or whatever it is) doesn't qualify, for example.

I'm assuming that the kid requesting it be added is from Rochester, as they just got one of these a few weeks ago. If so, here is a thread in the NY forum about it: http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=104009

Er...this is kinda awkward to ask because it's a request for a completely cosmetic change, but it's been bugging me for a while, so, uh...

Would it be too terribly difficult to make the machine names initial caps only instead of all-caps (ex. "DDR Extreme" or "DDR Max 2" instead of "DDR EXTREME" or "DDR MAX 2")? riiight.gif

Initial caps is easier on the eyes than all caps. nerd.gif

Unless you guys...have a reason for using all caps, maybe? If that's the case, an explanation would suffice (as logical explanations have a tendency to satisfy me).

Just thought I'd ask. Thanks! E1.gif

You can blame Konami and their weird capitalization rules for that.

I'm thinking I should just go through and give them sensible names.

You, sir, think exactly like me in this case.

What I'd Like To Say To Konami wrote:
Just because it's in all caps in the banner does not mean you gotta go and capitalize it in the text. This includes game names and song titles too. Un-uniformity sucks.

I would, of course, suggest that you indeed go and give them all sensible names. Y'know, one of those slow days you have nothing better to do. laugh.gif

Edit-In
While we're at it, this brings up another issue:

I'm pretty sure the one song is titled "Sweet Sweet Love Magic" because they actually say that several times during the song. (This song is also known as "Sweet Sweet Heart Magic," and while it's nice that the heart appears there, you don't need to personify it with text, and it kills what sense of grammar I do have.) The fact that the word "sweet" appears twice in the song text is fine; it's sung twice, and appears twice in the title also.

I am also of the mindset that it is "Love Shine," and not "Love Love Shine," because Riyu sings it that way, and also because saying it twice makes it redundant.

Same above statement, regarding "Love Sugar" (Unless the superscript "2" in the japanese title means you need to say "love" twice, which again, just seems redundant to me.)

I'm also a firm believer that "Sana Morette Ne Ente" sounds better than "Sana Mollete Ne Ente."

Listen to me making suggestions before a decision's even been reached. I think I'll stop it for now. Hehe.

Wow. Well, I'm pretty sure we aren't going to do much to immediately fix that, seeing as how you're probably the only person who has thought "Gee, I think I'll add a machine location using my PSP."

Try using a computer.
