Hey, Im making a DDR documentary.
Ive allready discovered a few things
[1] People hate watching what seems like endless gameplay footage
[2] Where I live there isnt excatly too much competition, we have 2 guys ( one who is working on his AAA's)
[3] and there really is only 4 people who play every week end
Good news, We are planing on having a tourny soon and my friend knows alot of people who might come. It would be interesting to see shoot the tourny.
I need ideas! Please Help me!
Post em here..
By the way has any one here seen Dance Dance Documentary? _________________

I'm in Dance Dance Documentary, sitting at one of the tables during a match.
I made my own DDR documentary, and this is what I did:
Made cue cards, like "What is DDR?" "Introduce yourself" "Why do you play DDR?" "What is your greatest achievement?"
Filmed my friends, who answered all these questions
Filmed my friends explaining all the different modes, difficulties, and modifiers
Although it focused on PA, I showed a couple of my friends' routines
Showed other Bemani games
Used some of the footage for bloopers at the end
Anyway, I hope your documentary goes well. _________________

There was an indie documentary made of DDR in New England over the course of last fall. Don't know much about it, but the developers have a blog and if you do a little searching on the New England Regional Board, you can find some information on it. |

What's the sole purpose of this documentary anyway? If you do end up making it, get it published online. Is there any way I can see Dance Dance Documentary? _________________

I'll try to answer 'em, too.
----------------------------------------------------
What is your name and Nickname?
Jeff, but you can call me Nemmy.
What Is DDR?
It's a dancing game that requires skill, endurance, and the ability not to throw heavy objects around your room.
How did you find out about DDR?
I just saw it in an arcade and figured, "What the hell".
What is your favorite song?
Kick The Can - playing Stepmania Xbox mod I AAAA'd it.
How old are you?
24
How often do you play?
About 7 hours a day. Don't ask.
Whats your greatest achievement?
The AAAA on Kick The Can? It's not that tough, though. I'd say probably say the first time I passed Max. (period).
How much money do you bring to play DDR?
I usually play at home now, either on Max2, Extreme, or Stepmania, but I'll usually bring $20-$50 to the arcade.
What is currently your home set up, if you have one?
PS2 - Soft pads taped down to the floor
Stepmania for PC - Keyboard and headphones
Stepmania for Xbox - Soft pads taped down to the floor
Have you ever been in a tournament?
Nope.
How long have you been playing?
Well, I've really been playing since January 2004, but sometimes I say June because that's when I really started playing a lot.
What do think about switching from DDR to In The Groove?
ITG is definitely harder; I have some songs on Stepmania. It increases endurance and stuff because the songs are longer. I always used to dream about some huge DDR - PIU - ITG mix, with 9 arrows per pad, but I guess that'll never happen with Konami suing Roxor.
Can you explain how to play DDR?
Not really. Well, duh, you have to step on the steps, but it takes practice to get the beat right. For beginners - try bobbing your head to the beat. I still do it, and it works.
Whats the worst thing thats ever happend to you durring DDR?
Just recently, I tripped over my own legs while trying Maxx Unlimited Heavy Double, which I've only passed once. I badly bruised my right leg. Luckily, I haven't had anything serious.
Do you listin to the music from the game at home?
I can't stop humming B4U...but no, I don't, if listening to DDRFreak's radio doesn't count. DDRFreak rules!
How long do you think you will be playing DDR?
Until technology becomes so outdated that my Xbox doesn't have any power outlets to plug into anymore (when everything is run by nuclear batteries). Essentially...until I am physically unable to play. Even if all dancing games go out of business, I still have Stepmania. _________________

That'd be a good topic. If I wasn't so goddamn tired, I'd answer it right now.
So, how am I going to be featured in the documentary?
Dance Dance Documentary: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452188/
If you make this movie, you gotta get it into IMDB! _________________
