I just started about a month and a half - 2 months ago, i guess im sort of mad at the fact that it seems like im one of the last people on earth to get good at DDR. Well, i guess thats sort of exaggerated since i still see alot of newer people. But i wish i'd have found it sooner.

Im pretty sure that they will continue to make home versions for a little while longer, but no more arcade mixes. But if you seriously want their address (I think the US one is in Cali but I could be wrong) just look on their website or their video game cases.

Lets get this straight... Shall we?

Older mixes rocked.
Fifth Mix is missing some kick buttocks (KOREAN) songs from 4+.
You havn't played DDR untill you *Suffered* Through 3rd mix Asian.

Heh heh, I pretty much really got into DDR with 3rd Mix Asian, since that was first DDR game for me that was at a local, easy-to-get-to arcade. None of the K-Pop songs, some songs inexplicably hacked off the original 3rd Mix list, etc. But I liked it all the same, it was better than DDR USA. I don't care what anyone in this thread says, there are a ton of songs from the 3rd Mix that I miss because there are so few earlier mixes. Lots of licensed songs, particularly, like everything by E-Rotic, Follow the Sun, Vol. 4, Wonderland, Flashdance, etc.

I got into DDR way late...last June was when I first started playing. I've played Max2 and Solo 4th, but I still like Extreme better. If I had played 5th mix that would be my favorite though just for Hot Limit...You chase solo we drink ritalin lol.

Man, some of the older mixes owned.I haven't played anything but Extreme at the arcade, but I've played some of the songs and seen some of the songs from older mixes.4th mix + looks mad good. So, yeah, I am upset I didn't start playing earlier because I would have liked a shot to play some of those songs in the arcade.

Im not at all mad that i started playing DDR after extreme came out, in fact, there are more places with extreme than anything, and most of these places never even had DDR, they wouldn't have gotten had it not been for Extreme being so well loved. and who cares if there is anything to look foward to? it doesnt matter that much, y dont you go to the places with older DDR machines to get to know your roots. that is even more interesting than looking foward to new DDR stuff, I find it very interesting when I go to the arcades with 1st mix, its very fun, its better than starting on 1st mix and working your way foward, even my friends who grew up with DDR 1st mix thought they woulda liked it better if they had started on extreme, and they think its an excellent song list too. altho, nothing can replace their love of making their own mixes.

I did start officially playing after Extreme came out. I don't count the one time I messed around with Konamix at my friends' house. My friend got Extreme for his birthday, so I tried it out. I got hooked and I bought Konamix. I've only been playing for 2 weeks now.

I started way back in the day when 3rd mix Korean was new. They then upgraded to a 4th, a 4th plus (GREATEST MIX EVER!), 5th, MAX2, and eventually Extreme. I feel old compared to all these people who haven't played anything prior to Extreme! At least there's a Solo 2000 near me that I can play when I feel like going oldskool. I also have a lot of old mixes for PSX and DC.

The music on the old mixes is substantially better than the new mixes. Much more danceable songs and the stepcharts were a lot more fun. For Extreme I was probably the most excited when I saw how many revivals were on it. Hell, I remember that having Butterfly come back was huge.

I mean, back then DDR was completely different. No one gave a poopy about Perfects, just clearing songs was an accomplishment. We didn't have those damn speed mods either. I don't really like the new atmosphere that much...

Everyone knows the best oldskool songs are Lupin the 3rd, Cat's Eye, and My Baby Mama.
