Ki-Se-Ki = Already on IIDX. Not a new song.
Stars = A remix of the Pop'n version. Not a new song.
So, no. There haven't been any new Naoki songs for a DDR mix since Extreme Jp CS. And there haven't been any Paula Terry/Naoki songs for a DDR since... Extreme AC. Which makes me hope it IS a new AC mix.
And if it is a new AC mix, I assume new cabinets.(Seeing how like... every DDR Machine in Japan was sold to the US) BUT, time will tell... SPECULATION LIKE WUHT. _________________

Wasn't one of the 'leaked' songs from Paula Terry? (EX2, 2004 April Fool's Joke) _________________

I can just imagine how surprised Paula Terry must be. "Wow, I got a ton of hits! But I didn't post any new songs or anything... I wonder why?"
The reason why Naoki hasn't been doing any console DDR songs is because he doesn't work in that department. He and the other Big Five produce music exclusively for Konami's arcade series. That's what makes them the Big Five. Konami has 70-odd full time musicians on staff but only 5 of them are dedicated to Bemani. The others (Sota, Akira Yamoka, Sana, and most musicans) frequently do work that isn't Bemani related.
(The big five used to be Naoki, Taka, Mr. T, good-cool, and Slake. But we know that Slake left Konami to be a self-published musician.)
So this announcement means that somebody from Naoki's department was given the task of creating a new song specifically for a new DDR project. (And of course Naoki took it.) That almost certainly has to be an arcade version.
Taka-no-Hakkin wrote: | Anyway, getting on topic, who wants to entertain the idea that this will not be a sign of a possible new DDR machine, but rather the sign of DDR2? You know, same concept with revised hardware/software and networking capabilities? |
I love the e-Amuse system. Not only does it enhance the games with automatic Internet Rankings and downloadable songs, but it stops bootleggers. (Bootlegs can't connect to e-Amuse and your customers won't like that.) Unfortunately, if you import an e-Amuse game, then the e-Amuse features won't work either. Hence, as long as you're importing, then you might as well be using a bootleg. If Konami does make DDR2 then they need to find a solution for the people who use out-of-region bootlegs. (One solution would be to deploy the system in every region where there is sufficient demand. What a concept.)
D-Man - The two April Fools songs were Prelude by Naoki from IIDX 9th Style and some random Captain Jack song that I forget. |

*me butts in to say what NAOKI has been doing*.
TERRA = Jun + Naoki. I win.
"Naoki-san" how cute. Heres the thing, Paula Terry doesn't really know much about Bemani, if you have seen her site. I highly doubt this is for an AC release. _________________

And to completely flip around and offer the reverse...do you think it might have to do with the announcement of DDR Studio?

i dont think itll be in ddr with mario. mixes like that only have character related songs. like disney mix only had disney songs. |
Actually, the US version of Disney Mix had some 4th Mix Konami original songs, like B4U and My Summer Love. And the import Disney's Rave had a bunch of oldies songs as well as Twilight Zone and Let's Groove (although both were different than the versions in DDR Max).
I agree that it probably won't be for the DDR Mario game though |

I highly dought Konami is coming back with a new ddr arcade version...
but I could be wrong. ITG is keeping the whole Dance gaming alive (arcade wise), but I just dont feel that its gonna be DDR.
Two years is a long time and we are just dying to put something new (Bemani) in our DDR machines.
The new machine concept wouldnt make sense either b/c Konami knows that the US and Eruope has most of the machines...... so maybe IF it is a mew mix, then there might just be new hardware. As said before.... only time will tell. |

for some reason i think they are coming up w/ a new cabenet also. if im correct they're making one for studio, ITG is getting a new one, NeonFM is coming out soon. oh and weve had the same one since forever. they'd almost have to make a new one just to keep the intrest. |

Hey, I can't pass every song in EX...but still as long as there are still some of the older songs on a new arcade mix (I hesitate to call it EX2), I'd play it...now if there's a bunch of crap, I might pass that up in favor of EX or MAX2. As long as it's not crap, I'm fine with it. _________________

What about that new IIDX Sky they're testing? Perhaps it's a song for the final version of that? |
