People who read the arrows and don't listen to the music won't get far on heavy mode.
It's not a "people who use stepmania do it like this" trend, it's completely up to the person. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

I played at home first and recently downloaded stepmania. I look at the screen to see which arrows I have to step on, but I step on them when I hear it in the song. A good yet easy example is bumble bee on heavy.
Another thing I do with the music is tap my foot for every beet. That way if there's a big gap in between steps or a freeze, I stay with the beat. |

If you play strictly by music or strictly by the arrows you'll never get anywhere.
You have to listen to the music to know where you are in the song. But most songs on DDR aren't timed as well as they should be. Alot of newbs don't notice it, but when you're starting to AAA stuff and MA on Oni's and Nonstops then you notice that it's more about reading. Thats why people use speed mods. Speed mods make it easier to read the arrows so the music doesn't throw them off.
Example of a well sync'd song (IMO the best sync'd song): Be Lovin'
Example of a bad sync'd song (We all know this one): A
I'm not saying you're wrong to play by listening to the music to play cause Pop'n Usagi is right, every persons prefrence is different.
You'll notice too that the home versions are sync'd ALOT easier than arcade _________________
Call it DDR! Call it ITG! Either way, it still taste like chicken.
Konami created it (DDR), RoXoR perfected it (ITG), and we should all respect them equally. |
