Well, i make a DDR CD about once every month, and i have not once put a ten-footer on one. If there were a few more, I would make one with all ten-footer, maybe. Interesting idea, actually...... (I made a pretty good one with mostly challenge songs that was pretty good)
Anywhore, of the maxes, I think MaxX is kinda a ripoff of three hundred. When you think about it, the freeze gallops are basically just the opening of 300. And as far as the slowdown gallops and tricky runs, you basically get those in LoM. All in all, Unlimited is just too hard to get a AA (like I can almost do with 300) but too easy for me to be worried about passing it (like LoM).
But this is about music. MaxX is also kinda harsh to my ears, same with Max(.). Max 300 also just seems like it was kinda made to be fast.
Legend of Max does sound awesome, though. Sleek, and, dare I say sexy? Whatever that guy is saying in the background, something like "boo-swhy" with the 6th note air notes sounds unique in the max series.
Paranoia Survivors. Are you kidding? Is their any song that deserves to be on the Matrix soundtracks any more than these two? Really, for the longest time I have wanted to choreograph a fight while doing one of these.
Bag, after playing some of the really really slow stepmania songs, the challenge is gone for me and the fun is gone with it. Sounds very abusive.
I don't consider anything that just has a 10 foot difficulty on doubles really a ten-footer, so Genom Screams (which is an excellent song) and Gradiusic Cyber (on Ultramix, bad song) don't count with me.
And finally, sweet, dearest Sakura. Sakura is my favorite ten-footer of all, I think. I especially love the slow down that's so refreshing by having a ten footer take an easy turn for a few seconds. This is what Tsugaru Apple mix was meant to sound like. _________________

MaxX a rip-off of 300? it was made by the same company you coon, so how can it be a "rip-off"? Anyway, rip-offs are usually inferior to the original. MaxX improves on 300 in every conceivable way.
Not to mention that all paranoias and maxes sound like poo and do not deserve to be on a soundtrack. You cannot honestly call this shit true music. _________________

Are you talking just about the Paranoias when you said that it's not real music? Every song in DDR is a song. By definition, a song is music. Sooooo, in conclusion, don't flame things that people have been saying that they like.
I infer that we're talking about muscial values, and if so, all my list are equal to:
Sakura
MAX 300
Max. (period)
Paranoia Survivor Max
Paranoia Survivor
Outer Limits
Legend of Max
MaxX Unlimited
BAG 300..........I mean Bag.............. _________________

From top to bottom (of ones I've heard):
Maxx Unlimited: Pure awesomeness. I agree with the person who said it sounded epic. The trance-ish section is awesome! It almost makes me cry... and gotta love all the jumps in Light and Standard!
Legend of Max: Close to above. REALLY cool sound, and the slowdown is nice, too. Love the syncopation in the Light steps!
Sakura: The tempo changes really add the extra effect. And, of course, it's Tsugaru-ish with a flute... nice combo. Relatively close to LOM.
Outer Limits: Really cool from what I've heard. Can't remember enough to describe it, though. Close to Sakura.
Bag: Gotta love bagpipes! Not to mention the 12/8 feel of the song (at 130 bpm). Close to Outer Limits.
Paranoia Survivor Max: Slowdowns add extra effect. The extra section of the song (added to the original Paranoia Survivor) is also cool. Kinda close to Bag.
Max 300: Cool drumbeat, with eerie background voices and whatnot. Close to PSM.
Paranoia Survivor: The slowdowns are still cool, but without that extra section (in PSM), it just isn't that good. Not that close to Max 300. _________________

Ummm...... coon? That's a weeeetle bit racist and I am not even black, anyway, so I don't see why you're saying that. I am also entitled to my opinion, which is that the section of the song with the freeze gallops seems to follow a lot of similar music and step patters, cleverly disguised by freeze arrows.... kinda. The same is true of max(.). And yes, one song can be a ripoff of another song. Would you say Ordinary World is a ripoff of the original? If you like the DDR version, you wouldn't, but if you did, you would hate the fact that they re-did it. The fact that MaxX and Max300 are made by konami is irrelevant. _________________

My friend told me it was a flashing 1o f00t3r. | Even though this has nothing to do with this thread, you can play MAX. (period) on the japanese version of DDR Extreme. _________________

1. PARANOiA -RESPECT- Just pure sexiness
2. MaxX Unlimited - Really sounds awesome, and actually invokes just a little emotion from me.
3. Sakura - Very cool feudal sounding song, reminds of some song I'd see on an anime >.>
4. Outer Limits - Cool, but gets kind of annoying.
5. Legend of Max - It's ok, but it's just a little too calm and inactive for me. I hate the ending.
6. PARANOiA SURVIVOR/Max - Uggh, just annoying, they're ok, but annoying.
7. Max 300 - Hardly any melody, sounds like a bunch of noise, the drumming section in the beginning and middle is the only thing that makes it ok.
8. Max. (Period) - absolutely terrible. Really, it's just awful. It's like a noisy, even more dissonant version of Max 300. |
