no DDR>>>>>>>>>>>gay
i swear i would to, i cant see a world without DDR in it, flame me if you want i dont care, im just speaking up for the DDR players out there, gay or not _________________

Seems like there's one of these kinds of threads every month
Well anyway, trust me, there's no correlation between sexuality and DDR. I'm gay myself and play DDR, whoopee. Trust me, I was gay long before I knew about DDR. On the other side of this, I know plenty of gay guys who think DDR is pretty weird, I've even dated folks who were like "Dude, you are really into that crazy game... that's kinda weird". Needless to say they didn't get dated for very long
Seriously though... DDR gets called "gay" because it has flashy lights and Madonna covers. And unfortunatley "gay" in many contexts in slang language means you're calling something negative. So, they're probably trying to say "That game you're playing looks really dumb" as opposed to "Wow, you must suck a lot of cock." Unfortunatley, until people stop using "gay" as meaning the same thing as "sucks" or "is lame", it's not going to go away anytime soon.
One positive note to end my post on... in my 4 1/2 years of playing DDR (has it really been that long O_O ), i've found the DDR community to be, for the most part, really supportive of diversity. I've honestly can't recall ever running into any hostility, from other DDR players, due to my sexuality. Can't say the same for other arcade patrons , but it's cool because as long as us DDR players stick together, they can't heckle for very long before they get a big group of people surrounding them saying "wanna make somethin of it?" _________________

i so wanted to do that,.
whoever said the thing about if you play GTA san andreas makes you a gangster your right. my friend was an innocent little kid, good in school too, lots of friends N everything, untill GTA san andreas came out, now he thinks hes hardcore sh*t, doing drugs, slacking off, ignoring people, picking on kids, thaty game changed his life, couple weeks later he gets shot by some "real" gangsters, not to say that GTA is a bad game or anything but if you want someone to shoot and have fun, play paintball.
DDR and sexuallity have nothing in common and the reason i made this thread is for all DDR players to share what they think and it turned out well. i respect people who admit there gay and are proud of it. go them and another note, People who play DDR are very nice you notice that? flashing lights and dancing doesnt involve guns or anything but dancing, i suck at dancing and hate to dance on a stage cause i lok like a stupid moron but on DDR i can look like a fool and get respect for it. DDR is the game of the future.....untill MGS4 comes out

I'm gay and I'm starting to AA some 10-footers
As mentioned, there's no relation between hobbies and sexuality.
Oh and Dancing_Mantis or whatever, no, you don't just become bisexual or gay. You said you're 14. It's called puberty. Your sex drive has just started to kick in. |

Why is it that if someone goes from straight to gay, everyone says they were gay all along, but if someone goes from gay to straight, everyone says they're in the closet and covering up their gayness?? Stupid logic.
Anyway, just man up to your stupid friends, or stop hanging out with them. If you want to do anything fun in life, you're going to have to stop worrying about what other people think of you.
I'm 29, straight and married, so if I worried about what people thought, I'd have never started playing at arcades, and that would have been a huge mistake. |

No one "goes from straight to gay" or "gay to straight". You're either one or the other... there isn't any kind of transformation that takes place. It sometimes takes time for someone to realize and accept that they're gay because the tendency is to follow social norms and behave in ways that are expected, and to avoid stigmatization. I can't conceive of a situation in which someone would be embarassed and in denial about their heterosexuality. |

I play DDR (albeit rarely), play ParaParaParadise, give a shit about my appearance, and listen to girly Super Eurobeat songs, but I can honestly say that I am NOT gay, or even bisexual.
This whole connotation of girliness with homosexuality bugs me. I have a couple friends who are gay, but they are not quite in touch with their feminine side. |

DDR is just a game after all, if u enjoy it, play it. I understand why some ppl may think it's gay (I've watched myself play DDR on tape and I must agree I didn't look very manly)
but w/e all my friends play it, guys and girls, and just to prove it's not a game for gay ppl only, most of my friends have girlfriends and play it.
my only problem with it was my parents making me feel ridiculous about it, and I got over it. I just explained how much they don't understand what they're talking about when they say it's for girls only and made em realize they were wrong, so now they kinda approve and it's excercise too.
And I'm not gay either, I'm just preoccupied by how many stereotypes there is in our society adn how they all are plain wrong.

Always wanted to ask:
Unless it's one of those Yaoi dating sims in Japan, I fail to see how there is a big deal between video games and your social status (and no, do not bitch at me at my choice of words...that's all I could think up). |

Some games target girls, other games target boys. You won't see a lot of girls, if any, play the Playboy Mansion game on Xbox (i think), nor will you see a lot of guys, if any, play the latest Lizzy McGuire game on gameboy.
If some people say DDR is gay for guys it's just because it's related to dance. As far as I'm concerned, I enjoy dancing, so w/e people say about the fact that guys shouldn't dance and instead should try to look like thugs on the sides of the dancefloor well its plain stupid. Same for DDR, I enjoy the game thus I play it. My only concern was that my parents thought it was for girls, but I got over it in a day.

In my opinion, those people were just being ignorant.
DDR is certainly not for gay people, especially since most of the people who play it aren't "GAY". _________________
