OMG IN THE GROOVE RUINED MY DDR LIFE!!!!! frust.gif ok heres the story.
last friday, me and my friend Guy always go to the arcade (Bridgewater Sports Arena in NJ). we meet alot of cool, goodplayers. Mostly our skill lv. One day, guy ran ahead to get first game, i decided to walk. i heard this bloodcurdling scream, i waslike oh crap. so i ran in and saw In The Groove!!! disgust.gif . i was like NOOOOOO. they REPLACED the ddr extreme machine...THE GOOD ONE, the ultra sensitive one for ITG. now, there are 2 extreme machines there, the left one (now itg...) was the awesome one, the right one was CRAP.They left the right machine for ddr, i tried out ITG. the arrows are so bland, they are all grey, it sucks. they copied off of SM too. anyways, theonly good song i found was Pandemonium...anyways i was so mad!! i was like dude frick this poopy. E2.gif

Edit:there WERE 2 ddr extreme machines.

ITG >>>> DDR

the noteskins are so much cleaner. the ddr skins all look the same. itg's metal skins are so easy to read.

for instance:
bag on ddr 1x: fail 1/4 in.
bag on itg metal noteskin 1x: B

not only that, but with the amount of focus that ITG puts on 1/16 notes, if they used anything less bland (see weird ddr arrows that all look the same unless you're directly comparing them to a different note measure), speed mods would be absolutely necessary to read the songs.

not only that, but this is ITG's FIRST MIX. yes thats right. 50 songs in the FIRST MIX. how many songs did ddr's first mix have? like 8? and almost all of them sucked. now look at DDR 8th mix only to find half the mix is shatty k-pop/j-pop music and remixes of formerly good songs!

ITG's music > DDR's

ITG's notekins > DDR's

ITG's steps > (and harder) than DDR's.

On top of this, ITG has usb card readers, a much nicer interface, mines, 3 and 4 arrows in one measure, AND 10x the mods that ddr has.

the only reasons why someone would say ddr is better than itg are these:
-you're so used to ddr, and omg, you can do well on the songs, that you dont wanna give it up and switch to something new because you fear change
-zomg! ddr hsa so0ol0 many m00re sonzg!!! (which most suck)

once again note that this is ITG's 1st mix. not only that, but ITG2 has all of ITG1's songs PLUS 50 more! so in 2 mixes, ITG will have 100 songs. it took DDR 8+ mixes to get how may songs? a little less than 300?

so with that said: ITG gets the better pads than DDR, because ITG > DDR.

done and done.

edit: and maybe ITG looks like an "SM ripoff" because it's based on SM? hrrrrm...

edit2: really bad addition skills

it is not bad, but DDR is definetly better, who cares about mods. who in their right mind would do a song on Tornado??? Or how bout Drunk?? its pointless. i must admit, it is more advanced. But would you rather play the original or a poser?

people who like to challenge themselves beyond what ddr has to offer.

yes, ive seen drunk, tornado, boomerang and the one that switches the positions of the arrows all passed on ITG on expert songs. its not impossible, and for some people, its better than AAA'ing every song you play.

original or a poser? does that make ddr a poser of PIU? i would actually go as far as to call it the little gay brother of PIU...

piu before DDR? Courtroom files say otherwise.

they were being made around the same time.

yes, ddr was *released* before PIU, which only means that konami got it on the market faster.

if ddr was truly a konami inspiration, those "court files" wouldve shown that konami won in the suit against andamiro. however, they didnt.

my point was is that there are things like ddr, that arent ddr. ITG is not trying to be a 'poser', its not trying to "like" ddr, its trying (and succeeding) in being BETTER than ddr.

and btw, if anything, ITG would be a "poser" from PIU, not ddr. 3 and 4 steps at the same time. focus on 16th notes. they're even considering using PIU bars in ITG2.

With a name like "DDR Freak," it would lead one to believe that the website was all about DDR. And plus, there's a forum specifically for discussion of DDR clones. Post all of your ITG or PIU questions there.

the case stated that AD is not guilty of copying ddr's design , never stated that AD came first. If pump came first don't you think they would've sued konami for DDR?

That must stinks. Write an appeal to the manager of the facilities.
If possible maybe you could fix the pad on the current Extreme machine.

WIN

Anyways, just because Mr. Max Comma over here only plays DDR because "LOL ITG SUXXORS LIEK WHUT" doesn't mean anything really. He's just one guy in thousands of players. What I'm trying to say is that:

Max Comma, you LOSE.

Everyone else, WHO CARES?!?

Actually, they sued Konami in Korea. And won. Because they were first. But Konami got to the US first and submitted a patent.

Your first sentence says "DDR Freak is all about DDR." Then your second sentence points out it is, in fact, not. Also, wait one week.

Locking. Put it in the correct forum.
