Has anyone but me seriously injured themselves playing DDR. I don't mean "Oh No... I fell on the dance pad and got a bruise" I got shin splints playing DDR riiight.gif , for anyone who doesn't know what that is, I now have little fractures and cracks on both of my shins. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who was dumb enough to play for too long, or maybe I'm not, but if you did, tell me. I feel lonely being the only person I know who can barely walk because I played DDR.

I got a nasty bruise on my big toe from kicking another arcade machine because I failed a song that I usually pass all the time.

What's the knee problem? I mean, what is it like? How bad does it hurt? I'm only 13 and I have to run everyday. i have proof that it's from DDR though. I fell down in the middle of a song.

My ankles are perpetually tight because I never stretch or warm up before playing.

This is the most likely cause of shin splints, not DDR.

And shin splints are NOT "cracks" and "fractures"... it's inflammation and damage to the muscle sheath around the shin, not the shin itself. A stress fracture can often accompany shin splints, but that's two different things. The distinction is important to note because shin splints can and should be treated with anti-inflammatories... which wouldn't be helpful in treating fractures.

ive always had pretty thick calves and alot of muscle surrounding my legs, so ive never had any problem with pain in my legs. sometimes a little soreness in the thighs, but that goes away fast.
any real injuries ive ever suffered are when i always mess up jumping over the bar. basically, i underdo it and hit my crotch. now thats suffering.

I've never been seriously injured, except for one time I pulled a muscle in my foot and it hurt to play for like two weeks...I was really pissed off when that happened.

I stubbed my big toe once stepping up to play. hurt like a b!tch

My only other injuries are when I fall off the machine at the end of my game from exhaustion. the carpeting is a little too thin to soften the blow of the fement floor I guess it is. hurts.

I've never had a serious injury, but I know someone who pulled a hamstring. He's doing well now.

Well, back when I first got DDR, I was really outta shape. It gave me some great back spasms. Other than that, just some some general soreness, usually in my lower back. I fractured it playing football a little less than a year ago....It sucks, being only 16 with a broken back. E2.gif

Ow... ya, no serious injuries, but a few people I know have sliced their bare feet open on a metal pad. I don't warm up, either.... E19.gif

I twisted my ankle twice, the first time being falling off the pad during the gallops in Tsugaru and the second time falling off the pad and into the change machine during Kind Lady doubles. Shin splints hurt like hell...I could barely walk for about 4 days after.
