Last month, we told you about Robbie, the 14 year old boy with kidney disease, whose wish we were helping to make come true, along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Indiana. Thanks to the generous donations of all of you and companies affiliated with DDR, we were able to raise over $1000 worth of contributions!
Cobalt Flux donated two of their CF pads.
RedOctane donated a copy of DDR Extreme and a mini DDR Controller.
The collective donations of DDR Freak members provided:
Sony PlayStation 2 with 8MB Memory Card
Sony Dual Shock 2 Analog Controller
DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution
DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution
EyeToy AntiGrav with Camera
Taiko Drum Master
Gran Turismo 4 (because we had extra money to spend)
Thank you to everyone for their support. _________________

Make A Wish came to our house today, (Sat. July, 10th,2004) He will have his wish granted summer of 2005. (I will send pictures to DDR also and will try to post them for all to see) Rob's wish is the ultimate game room in our home just like an arcade! It will be catered by a local restaurant that Robbie likes the best. It will be on TV WNDU news 16. I will post hours of operation for the kids in the neighborhood. We visit Riley Hospital for Children every month. He has a very rare kidney disease. He has membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis type II or shorten version (MPGN type 2). We are finding it takes a lot of work from others and a long time. He has 3 brothers and a sister that one-day hopefully could give him one working kidney. However, Transplanted kidneys are often re-infected once again. My point is: Enjoy what you have today! Remember to treat each day as if it could be the last. Don't sweat the small stuff. Don't let a day go by without a hug or smile, and laughter is the best medicine. Update: 1/9/05 Well... He has recently developed some high blood sugar reading. Update: 1/20/05 Going to control this small problem with diet. It sometimes happens when on steroids for a long time. I hope in the new year coming, it will be a very good year, full of fun an new hope.
Rob wants to have a plaque made with everyone who helped him along the way so far, DDR will be included in this along with Doctors and Hospitals, Kidney foundation, Make a Wish,... ect. Again Thank you everyone.

I know I haven't been around here much anymore (ITG has taken over my life, lol), but I just wanted to say that I thnk it's awesome that this website and these people could do so much. Like, I had the right words in my head like a minute ago but I can't seem to put them into this form. I guess I just find it awesome how DDR could help someone in need, and that the people of the DDR community helped him a lot. Kinda brings a tear to ones eye no? And I hope Robbie gets well soon! _________________

You know, it has taken me a long time to realize this. It's times like these that make you realize that there are more important things in life to worry about than the innane things that you think are so important (but really aren't).
I would have donated had I known about this fundraiser. However, it seems that Robbie is going to have an awesome time. It is really great that a lot of people can pitch in to help one child enjoy his life a little better so everyone who helped should be proud of yourselves. Please send my very best wishes. Thank you. |
