Burning SM onto a CD to play on the Xbox. Help!

Ok, I want to try to burn StepMania onto a CD, and use it on my Xbox, but I have a feeling it's not going to work, but I've seen it done before. Anyone know how to do it?

iono how to do it but i have an idea! u gotta mod ur x box so u can copy ur games to its hard drive.. i suggest u look up on how to do that elsewhere like on an x box mod forum or something.. sorry im not much of a help

If you've "seen it done before", why not ask the people who did it?

Anyway, I don't think you can just burn StepMania to a CD and play it on your Xbox. SM for Xbox is called StepManiaX. From what I understand, you have to use that special version of SM if you want to play it on your Xbox (although I really don't see what the big deal is about getting SM to play on an Xbox, but whatever).

I'd definently do this if I had an Xbox. Portable Stepmania with 500 songs is sexy.

It'd kinda be like putting it on a laptop with less the hassle (sort of) and less money.

i supposed you have to talk to someone who knows what their talking about.

Like me? Yep that works.

For starters. You must mod your xbox, softmods work too, as well as the hardware modifications (*** DONT DO THIS IF YOU PLAY ON XBOX LIVE ***)

Then you can burn teh cd with the songs and crap on it, but you have to cache the songs on your pc first, its overly complicated.

Teh better idea is to upload the stuff to your Xbox hard disk, it will load a billion times faster.

FTP = File Transfer Protocol

I think he's saying once you get the xbox modded you can set up an ftp server on the xbox and send the files to it through ethernet (or vice versa)

ok so how exactly would you go about setting this all up? Do you have to take apart your comp or something? And can you tell me which mod I need to get?

Ok, first thing to realize, this will frick all chances of you using Xbox live.

So dont do it if you use Xbox live. period. You have been warned.

Now, you can try softmoding, i did it, it works great.

Or you can get a chip, dismantle your xbox, put the chip in, and set that up. your choice.

i reccommend the ltools setup package, search Xboxscene for more information.

find it on the 'regular place' , i cannot tell you more details but you will find the ltools package there, look on if you need help..

LTools rox, i have used them myself and it is easy, cheap and works flawlessly..

BTW Use the CVS Build of StepMania instead of Xport's one.. I find it much better (cause it's my build

Yeah.

getting the Ltools package hints:
its an OPERATING SYSTEM
of the flavor LINUX
its ofor the XBOX

Don't link to Xbox binaries or places to get them. And don't mistake me for someone who doesn't know why they're illegal.

If you don't know what FTP is, then this is probably a project you're not prepared for.

It is possible, but only if your xbox is modded, which from your badly written statment im judging yours isnt
