sorry for the misplaced thread. well here it is again (in the right place this time)

Everyone that plays ddr has a certain thing they do that is different from most other people. wether you clench your fingers into fists or straighten your wrists (like me) there is most likely something you do subconciously with your hands/face/body while you play. So... Whats Your Thing?

only thing i can think of thats different is that i use 1X on everything. i've used 2x at one point for my summer love and orion amuero mix, but other than that, i play wothout any mods. i like to have my arrows go as fast as they were intended to. but i do play hidden dark sometimes too.

In between groups of 8th note sets, i.e. Frozen Ray, I sort of "jog" in between the steps. It's difficult to explain, but I've never seen anyone else do it.

Because I'm in choir I naturally tap my foot to the beat before the steps start....

On La Bamba I clap my hands salsa style when the 1/8 steps start...

And for some reason when I play Heavy I always put Solo steps on...

On any song where the last step is a jump, I always hit the jump facing away from the screen, except on Look to the Sky, which is always the last song I play.

I first noticed this with my girlfriend and my friend Allie that they usually have their right hand in a fist and their arm is bent to their chest. No clue why tho.

Playing at home I usually wrap my left hand around my right index and middle fingers. I do that on easy songs alot. I scratch my head and keep shoving my hair back alot too.

well, i have a few little things.
i tap left and right to the beat before the song starts (unless the song starts a different way in which case i will start that way),
some songs i add beats where there is none but it helps keep the flow,
my wrists usually tense up without me noticing it,
on many songs i try to do the whole end backwards,
AFRONOVA heavy, i actually have to look down at my feet for the crazy part of the song or i will not combo it
i just loooooove hard songs:)
(i also sing where most people would give up)

On simple 1/4 streams, i tend to kick my legs up and hit myself, kinda like a jogging exercise.

My friend plays with his fingers in a way so that it looks like hes doing the "finger gun" thing. it looks funny

I tend to move my arms like bruce lee does whenever I play, jeet kun do style. Also, whenever I get to the third part of Tsuguru, I tend to hit the arrows like I'm doing a sterotypical russian dance.

i always see newbies put their hands in their pockets. its funny how they lose their balance on double steps.
me, i always keep my hands at least stomach level. never clench my fists cuz it scares me. and i only do turns when im trying to FS. i never mix PA and turns. but i do do that thing bono said. its awesome AND show offy.

My fingers will flex when I play as a combination of wanting to clench them into fists and not wanting my muscles to tense up. Most of the time I also push my hair back behind my ears too.

Hmmm...if you had asked me a few months ago I would have had lots of distinctive things...

Alot of tournament players have the same technique now in my region. I guess I'd have to say playing on my toes to the extent I do. I actually walk on my toes normally, and I can't physically put my heels down on the pad usually when I play. There are quite a few players who play on their toes but to the extent I do it is pretty distinctive, at least around here.

After I finish a song, I always place my left hand on the edge of the cabinet when selecting a song.
The other strange thing is that I don't take rest brakes before I do hard songs, nor even between songs.
