I'm Angela, and I've been playing DDR since the mall had it, whenever that was. I can play heavy mode I figured it'd do me good to finally get an account at DDR freak, so yeah... Does anyone else here play at the Lycoming mall in PA? |

You'll want to check out the region-specific forums for that one. |

y0, I'm Daniel. Yeah. I play DDR.
I'm relatively new here at the forums, and I've been playing DDR for three years on and off, although I've been playing it more often ever since WSU got Extreme for its arcade. I can sight-read all 7-footers and most 8-footers, and I've got a good number of 9-footers under my belt. I'm starting to work into Doubles mode; I can consistently pass 5 and 6-footers.
I recently bought DDR for my PS2 (US version; didn't want to get into that modchip crap) and a metal dance pad. With the pad at home, I plan on practicing some freestyling. Go me. |

Hi!
I'm Topher. I'm a former DDR hater, current player(addict?) I started playing (home versions) about 3-10 songs aweek in mid November. Started playing daily (home) after Christmas at least an hour (and up to 7 hours) which is when I was given Ultramix 1 and Ultramix 2 (bundle) for Christmas. I have an A on every song and I'm working on making it multiple A's for each song and ultimately a AAA on every one. I've only played DDR at the arcade 3 times. I need to pratice alot more. I've realized that being able to play a bunch of heavy songs at home means nothing about your skill at the arcade. There's my introduction. _________________

Hey everyone,
My name is Greatsayaman, but my real name is Lorin. I've been playing since March of 2003 (My 17th birthday) and I've been addicted ever since. I live in southern Utah. I haven't gotten to touch an arcade pad in a while, but I play at home alot. When I went to college I finally bought DDRMAX and a cheap pad. We have been best friends ! I'm not real good but I can kick alot of peoples butts at it.
I've been wanting to play with someone really badly and nobody ever wants to play with me. That changed two nights ago when my girlfriend started playing with me. I got her hooked and now she wants to play it every time were together. I makes me really happy, but she has better stamina than I do and usually can outlast me on total playing time. I love playing "Stomp to my beat" and "Healing Vision" on Standard.
Oh, and I like the cool pictures that come with peoples posts. If someone could show me how to do that, then I would really appreciate it.

They're called avatars. Upload the image you want somewhere, and put the link in your profile; it's at the bottom of the profile page.
I'm just too lazy to put one up. Bwah. |

Hey, All
Sludgetrough is my catchy screen name, but you can call me Paul. I've been playing DDR for about 6 months now, but I've been hitting it hard, playing every single day for 6 months, and I have hard metal pads at home. I play mostly single mode.
I'm already in the 9 footer range, and can get A's on all the typical 9-footers: Twilight zone, both Tsugaru mixes, Kakumei, Japan, Frozen Ray, I Feel, etc. I'm currently working on making the transition to the tough 9-footers and 10 foot songs, but it's taking a long time to build up the stamina to make it through breakdown, afternova, max300, healing vision, etc.
I hail from Naples, FL, and I'm hoping to meet some other DDR freaks from that area. I'm at King Richard's almost every Wednesday, so come on down, because DDR is more fun in groups! |

Hello, my name is YouAreADork, and--...and--...I'm an alcoholic.
Oh, wrong forum.
Er...if I could sum myself up in three words, I'd probably say; 'I don't know'...I'm Australian, and I live in Melbourne, and I have an arcade with DDR Extreme pretty close to my house, which is how I got into this horrible, horrible addiction. After only a few weeks of pouring money into the machine, and having the arcade manager put up with listening to Butterfly a total of 30304 times, I downloaded Stepmania and ordered the Super Dual box and a soft pad. I've never looked back!
Despite the fact I'm pretty new to the game, and I can only play on Light, and some Standard songs, I don't consider myself n00b-esque. I was reading these forums and FAQs long before I started playing, so, er...even if I'm not fantastic at DDR, I'm not obnoxious to other players. Which I think being a n00b really is (combined with the whole Butterfly issue), as opposed to a newbie.
I am an elusive female DDR-er, but so far it hasn't assisted me. I blame it on the excessive body odour and sweating thing, really.
Apart from DDR (Yes, there is a life outside The Pad.) I'm interested in most languages, writing, a great deal of anime, Nintendo and Rare, and of course, my beloved Legend of Zelda.
I'll just sit here and be quiet and un-n00bly.
Look forward to meeting you all! _________________

I probably don't qualify as a DDR freak, but hello anyway!
For one thing, I suspect that I'm at least twice the age of most of the people who post to these fora. (Yeah, I'm so old I use the Latin plural for 'forum'.) Specifically, I'm 52. Hey, I'm finally playing with a full deck!
I enjoy DDR a lot, and it's also the best exercise I get.
For a few months my son and I used to go to the local arcade to play. It was a lot of fun. But his schedule changed. So he and my husband went in together to get me the game on Playstation 2, complete with the hard pad when I had trouble with the soft pad.
I have two issues with the home game:
First of all, I really have no desire to get past the Beginner level (where I've recently achieved a few AAs, in case you care). But I found out yesterday that my DDR Extreme CD - the only one I have yet - contains a lot more songs than I've actually seen. I've prowled all through the Console Games forum, and I still don't know whether it's possible to unlock those locked tracks if I only play as a Beginner. Should I go ask this in Console Games, or is asking it here good enough?
Secondly, I miss a lot of the songs I liked best at the arcade - Captain Jack, La Bamba, Witch Doctor, Butterfly, Exotic Ethnic, It's Raining Men, and others. The ones I have are...well...okay, I guess. Not at all what I'd choose if I had my druthers. The only song I liked at the arcade which I can still get is Moba Moga! And I don't see most of my favorites on the songlists either. Is there any hope of finding these songs for my Playstation?
I'd sure love it if there were a DDR CD of oldies!
Well, thanks for listening.

hey everyone...i'm mike and ive been playing DDR since july of 2004
i think im pretty good, but by no means at the level of technik and qkumbr (no offense to you other elites, but those two are my goddamn idols)
i own ddr extreme and ddrmax2 for ps2, and i dont have an arcade too close to me, so im stuck on my home versions...i have an A or B on every song in those two games on heavy except LoM, MaxX, and So Deep (wtf? i hate that song so much) im working on it...nice to be here though |

i believe it is possible to unlock songs with beginner, but if you have been playing a lot and havent unlocked anything (usually every five songs, then it changes to every ten songs played), move up to light...its not extremely difficult

sorry, most of those songs arent on a US console mix, but exotic ethnic is available on DDRMAX...still, you can always use KaZaA or something like that to download .mp3s of you favorite songs, just to listen to them...hope i helped |
