NNR is werid. It just suddenly closed and StinkyPoo, doesn't even post anything about it on the forums or anything. DDRecall is looking there. They are a good team.

im not even going to bother using another site. it took me so long to input all my scores to NNR, and im not wasting my time doing it again on another site. i dont even play competatively anymore, so i would never really update it anyway. i did update my own personal site in my sig, but i dont play on doing anything else. thanks a lot nnr.

Thank you for that carefully thought-out and well reasoned analysis.

Should you decide to continue playing and keep records, you will find that it's a lot more efficient and should take no more than 20 minutes to enter 250 or so scores.

At this point, nemises' is right. NNR did own DD:Recall.

The layout was better, The grade you got on a song didn't look neon and stupid, and it had many more features.

But DD:Recall can overtake NNR by that little Mix selection thing, where you can see more than one at a time. Looking through the old mix pages on NNR got stupid. That alone will make it more loved by me.

Funny you should mention that; I've never been keen on how the letters look like either, but I'm not a graphics desinger. If anyone wants to take a stab at making nicer images for D, C, B, A, AA, and AAA and e-mail them to [email protected] I might use 'em. If they look good.

Too bad the guy who owns the site has it hosted on the ISP that he owns.

I never argued anywhere that webhosting is free or made any inference that even correlates to such a statement so please don't put words in my mouth if you can't support your claims with logical reasoning. Just because a service is free doesn't mean that no one is allowed to make qualitative observations, especially when can be supported with factual evidence.

When somebody is throwing one logical fallacy after another at me, of course I'm going to reply because it just seems reasonable for me to try and try and help correct one's faulty logic, disregarding how I choose to do it. I haven't even insulted you directly so I don't see why you feel the need to order me to not reply unless you think it's going to make you look foolish in some way.

When NNR first started, you had to enter your user name and password in every time you submitted a score. It took 4 months for something as simple as reading and writing cookie data to be implemented. When you consider the feature timeline, Recall is well ahead of NNR and since the site has existed for only a few days, it's really silly to try and say that one definitively owned the other despite the vast differences in age on the grounds of trivial options alone when there are other advantages ddrec posesses that will become very apparent in the next few weeks.

For everybody trying to say that NNR is better than recall: Give it time to develop. At least more than 2 days.

I'm sure you look incredibly sharp when you misspell words like "try" and all of your arguments consist of nebulous denials without any evidence to support your points.

It would be wonderful if we could avoid getting this topic locked. It wasn't started as a DD:Recall topic, but it's become a place for people to discuss it so could we keep it at that?

k now we know NNR is gone and never coming back right?
we can only hope DDrecall get better, if anyone could post some screenshots of the NNR site if they have any, maybe then the DDrecall owner could see the layout and then work on DDrecall to make it similar or improve because the NNR layout was just too good.

I have this teensy weensy hunch that the owner of the site *cough*thepersonwhopostedrightbeforeyou*cough* knows what NNR looks like. Trust me on this one.

PS - Recall's layout is a lot more user friendly. I'll take 15 scores > 1 score any day. And IMHO, I think the niceness of the layout can eat NNR alive.

Yeah, I was a big NNR fan, which is one reason we began work on DD:Recall. I needed stability for my scores! Unfortunately, I was also one of the many caught with my pants down when NNR disappeared the last time, so I lost many of my scores. And to think I used to laugh at my friend who religiously kept a notebook.

nemesis, keep in mind that DD:Recall is still in Beta. There's a lot more stuff still to be added, even above and beyond everything that should be standard on the score trackers you used before. If there's something you'd like to see *specificaly*, you can post it, e-mail me, or even put up a request on the Request Tracker.

I never got to use NNR, because it was down before I heard of it... But I don't think that DDRecall looks that bad, I like it a lot and will probably keep it even if NNR comes back...

n1 snooj its alot better now but i have a few requests

when i go to submit a song it always has it in alpha order and doesnt have all the songs on the one page so maybe you could put all the songs on one page when u go to submit a score.

and also the pics of D,C,B,A,AA,AAA dont seem right IMO maybe you could use similar ones to NNR's

and everytime im going to view my scores or other ppls scores it doesn't load it just stays on the profile just loading away.

also what would be cool is giving the user a rank just like NNR did, u know light, standard, heavy, challenge

if all that was on there i would have no problem with it E1.gif but damn it has improved already i gotta admit.

In case anyone cares, Google's cache has quite a few people's NNR scores cached. However, the cache snapshot of mine was only as recent as 10/04. I don't know if it's the same for other people as well, but it's better than losing everything and starting from scratch.

If you care to, and you're unfamiliar with this, just head to google and search for your NNR member name followed by "site:nnr.ca" (without quotes):
ie., I would search for: clubbinguy site:nnr.ca

if any results come up, look for one with a URL containing "scores_by_user_songs.php" and click the "Cached" link below it. It seems to take a long time to load, but eventually you'll get your scores back, even if it's quite an old version of them.

You may also come across your NNR profile, challenges, and oni scores... but again, probably old versions.

DDRecall is looking very sweet.
