The home one is probably softer than the arcade one but i still like the arcade one, i haven't played the home one in ages.

Home, because you can play all you want and you dont have to worry about people watching you, and you can practice in private! Once you get good, then go to the arcade and play.

Home just because you can have much more songs to play and you dont have to pay 75 cents for every 3 songs. But nothing beats the arcade experience.

I like both arcade pads and home pads but I think the arcade one is better. Of course, you can be better at it since people are going to be watching you while you play and also they get inspired as well. It makes you feel that you're one of them. E15.gif

I prefer to play at the arcade because I'm more comfortable on metal pads and DDR Extreme has the best songs and modes compared to the game I have, Konamix. When I get a PS2, I'll be getting and playing more games.

I prefer the Xbox home versions because a lot of favorites are on them... arcade... blah... there is one good arcade 27 miles away with DDR Extreme and a very close to me Pump it Up PREX3 thats now poorly maintained so I just stay at home... I have more mixes of PIU than that crap arcade... and traveling 27 miles for DDR Extreme isn't always an option... epescially when I don't want to spend that much on arcade games these days.

peoples.gif let me put this in a generically simple way

Home: Practice at home to improve your skills

Arcade: Then take what you learned and show off and make one hell of a show..

(That always happens to me unexpected)

I figured it out using a mathematical formula that playing at the arcade is 37 and a 1/2x better than playing at home. Heck, I'm only getting Ex(JP) becasue there's nowhere around here that has the awesomeness of the songs of Extreme.

I was trained DDR through the home pad (never went to the arcade) and the console (Japanese one). I'm mostly As/Bs in Standard but the problem is I can't get used to the arcade one. I'm sloppy, clumsy and pull Cs. Then I also feel embarassed by the people watching -_-

Me too. The arcade ones, no matter how new, have been played probably by over 500 people. The mats get less sensitive and the positioning is awkward. I average an A on 321 Stars at home on heavy, and in the arcades I got an E. I was even looking at where the heck my feet were! Spot on, and nothing. disgust.gif disgust.gif disgust.gif disgust.gif
