You want advice? Fine.
Don't expect something you're paying $25 for on eBay and smashing five days a week to last all year.
Be realistic. If you're mulling a $2 difference, then you're really pinching your pennies too hard. Assuming your former pads were $20 each, you could have spent that money plus the money you're ready to dole out now to get a RO Ignition and mod it and you could still be using that pad today. _________________

Hm, thanks for the advice. I got my first two pads at $50 a piece, then my next two at $25 for both (I just replaced the crappy foam in them with the nice, strong foam from the first two pads), which seemed to be fine until the right arrow started working only 50% of the time. I generally have friends come over and play DDR so I try to get the deals that contain two pads. However, if the ROIs are really all that good, I suppose I can *gulp* shell out $100 for one pad. I'd have to look into the modding that you mentioned (why would I pay $100 then mod the pad? What's there to mod?). Also, I'm kind of hesitant to buy it since I'll be getting DDR with Mario when that comes out and I don't know if the pad will be able to work with the GCN. I have a Nokia PS2 -> GCN converter, so I guess I could plug the pad into the GCN - I just wonder if it'll work properly or not.
But I think I'll take your advice and probably get an ROI (is that what you have?). It'd take a chunk out of my iPod / DS money, but that's a hit I'm willing to take for a pad that will last me a long time. |
