what was your first Impression of someone playing ddr? mine was back in march or april 2004 I saw this guy playing R3 and I was like "this game sucks and is stupid how could you humilate yourself like that!!! comes to find out that I didnt see the true nature behind it All I saw was a bunch of arrows going up a screen just like anyone else who doesn't play the game then a few months later I got into it and can't get out of it . not even if I tried Im addicted whenever I see a machine I have to play because It has become life to me.
You never like something until you try it. |

Same here. I thought is was incredibaly hard and didn't want to try it. Maybe I thought it was harder because they were playing a Solo Mix. I tried it when everyone was gone. These days, for me, crowds are a good thing. |

I saw two tiny Filipino schoolgirls step up to a DDR 3rd Mix machine in their uniforms, and I was like, sure, they tiny, let's see how this game works.
Then I saw them press the buttons all funny and step like maniacs and it gave me a heart attack.
It took me a year to get the courage to play. |

my first impression was watching this guy tear up paranoia rebirth on the 3rd mix , at universal a few years back. i was , amazed to say the least. i thought i had to try it but not after that guy just played an awesome set with a grade no less then A. so i didnt play and then about a year later when i pratically forgot about it, i happened to find some freestyle videos by the A-Team on accident, and i was hooked. i had to play, so i ordered DDR Max with 2 crappy soft pads _________________

I was in the same situation. Except for me I told myself that I wasn't going to suck at this game, and the rest is history.

I saw this guy play Exotic Ethnic. With all the crossovers it made him look like he was FLYING. I wanted to be able to do that and show off, so after that, I was hooked. _________________

When I first saw one of these brand new machines at an arcade years ago, my first thought was, "Damn, anyone who hops up on that game would have to have balls of steel!"
Later on, when I actually saw some people playing, I can remember being really impressed by their ability... but in hindsight, I realize now that they weren't really all that good. |
