I had a few questions about StepMania.I played it at a game store at my local mall.
1.How much does it cost?
2.Where can I purchase it?
3.Is it software or do you have to download it?
4.Can you use the Xbox pads to play on your pc?
5.How many songs are there?
6.Is it official?
Thanks. |

I can't think up a witty n00b response like "look" or "Search button," and I'm kinda tired, so I'll just answer them.
1.How much does it cost?
Nothing.
2.Where can I purchase it?
Nowhere, but you can download it at www.stepmania.com
3.Is it software or do you have to download it?
Download.
4.Can you use the Xbox pads to play on your pc?
Theoretically, but good luck getting an Xbox -> USB converter. People generally use PS2 -> USB converters and works good. Lots of info on the Stepmania website.
5.How many songs are there?
Well.. DDRUK has 1054 (every official file ever), bemanistyle has several thousand (and updates every day), and there a literally hundreds if not thousands scattered around the intarweb in other places. Just think of it as limitless.
6.Is it official?
Yyeeeaahhhhhhno. It's not "officially" official, but you can get all the official songs for it. There would be a sticky at the top of this forum addressing that issue. _________________

Just grab a Super Joy Box 11 XBOX/USB adapter on EBay and find the XBCD driver to go with it. Info's on the Stepmania site. It's not hard to find, it's just that most people have PS2s instead of XBoxs. I have an Ultramix 1 pad and the mentioned adapter and driver and it works perfectly fine for me. |

Aaah okay. I stand corrected. The reason I said that is cuz I'd been looking into a converter recently, but just haven't casually come across any Xbox ones. But I dont have an Xbox, so I wasn't really looking that hard for it. _________________
