Big Problem: StepMania no longer loading

I have a serious problem and this is happening out of nowhere, because I have never had a single problem until today.

StepMania isn't loading anymore. It will try to load but it is getting stuck at the "initializing hardware" part and it just stays there like that. This has never happened until today. I'm using StepMania 3.9 Alpha 14.

I just tried re-installing it and it didn't fix the problem at all. This is really starting to worry me. I don't get it because everything was working just fine last night and all the times before, but now it won't load at all. WTF.

I'm thinking that maybe Spy Sweeper did something to cause it not to work anymore because I used Spy Sweeper on my computer last night to get rid of some spyware. Do you think it maybe deleted something of importance that is essential for StepMania?

For starters, maybe its your client. Try updating to the latest client, RC2.

I don't know what else to tell you...

I just downloaded RC2 and that one is working for me. I still don't understand why the other one stopped working, but as long as the RC2 works, then I'm happy.

Is the date on your PC correct? On Dec 31, everybody had the problem you described on pre-RC2 versions.

that kinda thing happened to a20 for me, so i dl'd rc2. i lost foonmod
