Did anyone see that guy's improv performance on Steve Harvey's Big Time --tagnamed: smeigel-- as of Sunday night, 7:18 p.m. EST? Nice footwork, IMO but seems like the guy was holding back. Props tho to that front hand spring he pulled off. Still there was a lot more that could've been done. Probably I'm the only one that feels a bit critical this way (since I was an ex-freestyler). Any opinions from whomever who knows what I'm talking about???

BTW. That was one sexy Exceed2 machine on display.

P.S. theres goes the fame of DDR...and here comes PIU getting their 15 mins of fame. Andamiro must be wetting themselves from the air time they just got.

DDR has been on dozens of news broadcasts and daytime TV shows, and PIU has been on, from what I've heard, one show. Uh oh, PIU is stealing DDR's thunder!

Don't forget the infamous shoe commercial that sparked much hot-headed and otherwise idiotic discussion.

Yeah I saw that. The first guy that played SUCKED. Smidget was pretty good at FS though.

Well, if you get to Arturo's age and STILL play the game, you might not be that good either.. so give the guy some props for devotion.

And yeah, I definetly think they were holding back. The producers probably didn't want to make Harvey look like an amateur compared to them.

By the way, that was an Exceed 1, and it is in fact only a matter of time before Pump blows DDR away in the US entirely.

You think producers of a show can contact KONAMI for a machine and have a brand new one sent to their stage with a tech and everything? Somehow, I doubt it.

I thought that's what they wanted to do originally and couldn't so they went with PIU instead.. so I thought.

well its only a matter of time before PIU starts getting its fame on G4 TV. Por ejemplo, anyone catch that really weird commercial of numerous couples doing like synchronized freestylish footwork on a metal arcade DDR pad...and at the end....it says...G4tv with the fanciest couple players shown last. Couldn't believe it when I saw it, but then again, it was G4tv. Just saying once PUMP starts getting publicized...sooner or later that machine is gonna turn to a PUMP metal pad. ( drool.gif sweeeeeeet)

oh yea, Proz, I think you're right. about that notion. Cus supposedly whensmeigel played... he did a lot those heel/indian steps on the pad. Thats a real basic but fundamental step only DDR freestylers know---mostly improv'ers....(and so too do breakers). (Think about it...when you walk forward in a linear manner, your foot goes heel first, then toe). Most PUMP freestylers really dont heel the pad, since you're playing on a diagonal vs the up down left right directions so tendency there is to use more of your whole/front foot. In other words, PIU freestylers (this true especially when watching those korean vids) shimmeyslidestep the pad buttons...usually hitting two buttons at once vs one button at at time with the heel toe.

Wow...never realized something so simple could be so deep. lol word iz born so please believe it. nerd.gif [/b]

If DDR doesn't develop a new mix, and Andamiro keep the upgrades coming in the meantime, it is only a matter of time.

Also, Andamiro has a contract with Dave and Busters, if that accounts for anything. Hardly Namco, but that company buys an awful lot of upgrades every single time AM releases one. The latest one is spreading rather quickly too, I believe.

and its amatter of ddr getting old but when namco will risk pissing off konami enough to get them to not sell them games any more

People will inevitably tire of it.. the community is just in a very prolonged sort of denial for the most part, I think.

If Konami magically do unleash a new mix though, I'll concede that Andamiro'll be in trouble again. ..but until then.. the market is practically theirs.

konami dosnt have to they just have to keep being as teritorial as they are with namco

rembmer adimaro makes to my knowledge JUST pump knoami makes a lot of other games

so for as long as konami lets namco know they might lose all future konami games over this they wont look at admiaro

What future Konami games? They pretty much shut down US arcade operations, remember?

Actually, they make quite a few others. Pump is just (by FAR) the most known. Most of Andamiro's other games are redemption, and pretty costly I'm told.

It still makes them a few good bucks though, I imagine.

when you play ddr and then play PIU for a while withput playing ddr then going back to ddr can this mess up your DDR skills?

P.S.
PIU should go to hell and burn and never return!
