Just O.O.C., is Karaoke worth the cash? Or is it just the novelty of the thing that sells it? It does seem appealing, but I mean, other than party value, is it any good? _________________

It's karaoke. That should be enough of an explanation, but if it's not, I'll clarify.
-It's somewhat entertaining by yourself.
-It's very entertaining with a group of people.
-Entertainment value is enhanced by alcohol. _________________

Karaoke Revolution is pretty fun. I've played both solo and with friends or family, and it's definitely more fun in a group. I personally had an odd problem with it, though. For some unknown reason the included headset mic doesn't pick up my voice right at all. It's constantly registering me as too high, and sometimes it wants me to go lower than my voice can go. Maybe Logitech's handheld mic is better. |

There's an option for you to fix it in the Options. _________________

Oops, I knew I forgot something in my message! Yeah, I've fiddled around endlessly with the options, mic volume, etc. and there was no real improvement. I can only pass a few songs regularly, and maybe 1 or 2 max with a good score. It picks up my sister's voice perfectly, though, and she 0wnZ at the game. >_< |

I played it alone for a while to get better and to practice and it got my singing much better. You can use it for that purpose or use it when friends come over. That's when it's extremely more fun. =D
Haha, we had the best times with it - until I sold them. =P
It's good stuff. =] Definite must buy in my opinion. _________________

KR is the funnest video game in the world next to DDR.
I got for the family for Christmas and we've played it for hours a day. Trying to match the artsy little vibratos in songs you thought you knew is hilarious, and then you just fall over laughing when you can't do it or when someone else can't.
My little kids like the singing. They'll practice for hours. Plus they enjoy making up new characters and trying different venues - rooftop, enormobowl, party, etc.
I'm wondering - how many songs are there to unlock and how do you do it? The song list seems a little small. I'm thinking of buying KR1 and/or KR2 to get some more songs. _________________

If I recall correctly, you unlock songs by getting Gold records in the Main Mode. _________________

Hey, how does one work the mics for this game? I was thinking about geting this or a karaoke machine. I really like karaoke...but I'm wondering if it's better to spend money on karaoke CDs? Is there anything special about this game that would make it worth it?
Oh, btw, anyone have a song list? There's no way I'm gonna just HOPe it has good songs :-\ DDr, okay, I'll dance to anything, but singing, well...different story.
Peace!

I'd spend my money on karaoke CDs as I can pick songs that I like to sing to. These games have set amount of songs and is more goal oriented based on how well you sing and perform in the game. _________________

And by the way, has anyone seen heads or tails of a tournament in this game? Or would there be too many draws at 50000 points both ways? |

If people had to play on Hard or Expert at a tournament, it would be a much better competition. The highest score I've heard of on Expert is 30,000, so not really close to 50000.
Man, but a tournament would be fun.

Its definately no fun playing it by yourself.
With friends yeah. my friend had like a few beers and sung ABC. He actually scored platinum. lmao.
Anyway I haven't heard much of the Japanese version. Is that one worth trying? Is there a song list for the Japanese ones? |
