|
|
Does the poster of a topic typing "request lock" in a thread cause it to be locked automatically? I posted in a thread of mine that, and it was closed within seconds.
Just curious, and thanks for the time to reply. |

I like the idea of an administration pool. Well, not to say that Spike and company get a sweet pool to play pool vollyball in, but a pool that collects complaints. Instead of picking one adminstrator (who's possibly on vacation), we just hit "report to administrator" and it sends a complaint to a central location. Mods could go to their little "Complaints" page, deal with it, and put a checkmark for other mods to see 'oh, it's been taken care of.'
Or not. |

We've considered something like this before. It would have to require a couple things, such as who is the person reporting. Not so that we know who is telling on others (PMs do the same thing anyways) but to see if someone is abusing it. One of the big places that I know of that has a flagging system is GameFAQs, and I've heard nothing but how it's abused. So I think that it could be a good idea, but I'm also wary of it.
But I do agree that it sucks when someone is starting crap and you have to do a crapshoot with PMing mods. _________________

You know, how about the "checkbox" only being available to users who don't have warning points? And abuse would then give them warning points for bluffing, so they wouldn't be able to use the box again until their points are gone.
I'd go for that. _________________

I think it's an awesome idea. I'm getting tired of all the useless/misplaced threads--it'd be nive if they could be reported sooner, even if I myself have a point for a 'quoted for emphasis' post... eh... heh.

I think it'd be cool because I've seen so many threads that need to be locked.

Aren't we responsive enough in locking threads?
At least the constant complaining about "overmoderating" seems to suggest it. |

I personally don't thing this board is over-modded. I like the fact that if I don't check the boards for a day, I don't have to go back to a second page just to check each forum. Now if we could get that to 2 days... _________________

I also, would enjoy a flagging concept... Except for on certain debates, cause those are fun, even though other might deem them wrong... _________________

P.S. Desoulman. Give it one or two more months, that's all. _________________
