Other than the hidden codes for things like Extreme+ or Free Select modes, there's not much to unlock. The Extra Stage for Normal mode is Cosmic Cowgirl, and for Expert mode it's Say What You Mean. You can choose them normally in Free Select or Extreme+ mode. |
thanks for the info
anyone know about GF4/DM3 and/or Across the nightmare???????????????????????????? _________________

Well, I had never played the drums before playing Drummania, but I can play a few simple patterns now. However, I do most of my Drummania playing on a Drummania simulator (DTXMania), and because of that, I'm able to configure my set however I want. So, it's actually possible for me to play crosshanded, since I can put the hihat high enough in relation to the snare.
I don't think Drummania will help music reading much (if at all), since sheet music doesn't scroll, but I did notice an improvement in my DDR skills after starting Drummania, though. _________________

This may seem like a very weird request, but...
You know that sound you hear when you press Start in GF or DM to begin a new game? I really really really really really badly need it, specifically the Start sound from any GF/DM that's 5/4 and later. Where might I find it, or can anyone here somehow produce it for me? Please?! I've been looking everywhere and asking everyone for it, but still nothing.
It's just gotta be out there somewhere, though. So I'm begging anyone, please help me... _________________

HEY!HEY!HEY!
Just curious...how did you get that emulator? And what do you have for a set? Is it a real set, or how did you make it? I've been looking all over for something like that, since DM doesn't come onto the PS2 or anything this side of the ocean (Console that is) But if you could just point me out in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

Quote: | And what do you have for a set? | I got the Hart Dynamics Prodigy. At the time I got it, it was much cheaper than the Yamaha DTXPress. I use a MIDI->Gameport cable running from the drum controller into my soundcard. Then, the computer runs TV-out to the umm... that box in the living room that people stare at... I forget what it's called.
Anyway, I set the drums up in front of that, and play DTXMania on it. The benefit of DTXMania is that *.dtx files allow the use of the floor tom, both cymbals, and the hihat pedal for somewhat more realistic playing. And, of course, being able to play crosshanded makes some parts of songs much, much easier. _________________

[DMB]D-Man.exe wrote: | Shin, I saw the drumset you have, how much was shipping? | Umm, I would have to go through my records to find that out. It's been a long while since I got those (somewhere around two years). I know it wasn't more than $50... I think.
The only downfalls to the set are:
- If you don't buy it with a drum module (the electronic part that handles all the MIDI signalling, sound production, whatnot), you have to get one.
- It didn't come with a bass pedal.
- The hihat sucks (until it's modded... then it's only passable). Either get a new one, or be resigned to doing a bit of soldering when the trigger gets separated from the connector.
The benefits, of course are that it works great with DTXMania, and it comes with a floor tom, second cymbal, and a hihat pedal. So, if you have the time to practice playing the drums for real, then you can well... play the drums for real. Well, as real as you can get with a MIDI instrument. _________________

Im looking to get a Guitar Controller. Anyway, I see that RedOctane has one, are they worth the price? I also saw a TopWay one on Lik-Sang, which one is better and would be worth the money? |

The ones Red Octane sells are the Topway models. And they absolutely suck. Don't waste your money. You're much better off just playing with a Dual Shock on control setting C.

Hey, guys.
I just bought GF4/DM3 and GF3/DM2 for the PS2. I already have two guitars, but I'm looking at drum controllers. The Topway and Konami controllers both look comparable...but for the price, I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile just to buy a Yamaha DX-50 or -55 and use some sort of MIDI-to-USB interface to connect it to the PS2.
Has anyone done this? If so, what MIDI/USB adaptor did you use, and how hard was it to configure? _________________

Nope. Haha. I play on 1x all the time for anything and everything. I hate watching people speed it up. It drives me crazy.
Edit: Had a question, but found the answer.... _________________

Can anyone point me to a store that can get me either GF/DM title? The import store I usually use doesn't have any and doesn't know when they'll get any. Bonus points for "new" and "in stock".
(If you'd like to sell me your copy, email me at [email protected]; let's talk.) _________________

I have a few questions for my arcade.
We have Percussion Freaks 3rd mix and Guitar Freaks 2nd mix. I was wondering if we upgraded the Guitar Freaks to 4th mix, would the PF machine be able to link to it like a Drum Mania 3rd would.
Then just the questions of what is needed to link the systems, and if GF 2nd can be updated to 4th (it seems all the upgrade packs on channelbeat assume 3rd or higher...) |

Percussion Freaks can't link, unless you've got something like 9th or 10th. And even then you'd need to find the multisession hub, and good luck with that. I've never seen them sold separately from DM machines.
Certain GF2 machines can be upgraded, I believe, but I think it has to be the link version. You might want to ask around a bit more on that though, because I'm not 100% certain.
