|
|
I've been starting a DDR club at my highschool, and it's really slow going. Does anyone have any good tips on how to train a group of about 10 noobs? Other than what was said in the tips and guides section? Any help would be greatly appreciated. _________________

Hmm..
-DONT HIT EVERYTHING WITH YOUR RIGHT FOOT. ALTERNATE FEET UNLESS IT'S CUMBERSOME.
-Listen to the music, it'll keep your beat.
-You want to step on the arrow RIGHT on the beat. Don't stress over stepping on the arrow right as it comes up visually. Use your ears! The visual part will come.
-HOW HARD YOU STEP ON THE ARROW HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME. Unless you have a crappy pad, but that's different.
-If you see an eighth arrow, don't freak out. "1 and 2" is what you're thinking.
And, be sure to demonstrate! That's all I can think of... _________________

we have just recently started a DDR club at my highsch00l and it doesn't really consist of any n00bs per-se but i think that best thing they can do is buy the game. i remember that if you play at home you'll get better alot faster. i know that practicing at home doesn't really feel like practicing since it's DDR . |

Have them go back and forth between left and right, making sure they don't return to the middle, so they are kind of just rocking back and forth. Then tell them, "that's the basic motion of this game" and make them use that motion to do other patterns. Also point out basic patterns you can recognize in the songs. For example, patterns like this;
__
____
______
Show them how to internalize those. Other than that, tell them to trust their ears and not their eyes in deciding when to step. In terms of songs to recommend, if they need to learn 8ths, B4U standard is a great song to learn on. For jumps other than or have them do Dynamite Rave on light. _________________
