How long do you all expect DDR to last in America? Because I hear that it's practically dead in Japan. I can't imagine a world without DDR, so I will probably be one of those people that will play until I can't walk. riiight.gif What is the future of DDR?

Opinions/Thoughts?

Don't know, don't care. And if you can't imagine a world without DDR, then you must not have much of a hobby of another sorts, do you?

It's going to keep on going until everyone stops playing it. It's kind of like how Pokemon is all lame and stupid now but it's still not dead; people are still buying the games and cards and still playing/trading them.

I have a hard time believing DDR is dead here after playing Ultramix 2.

Arcade versions, well maybe that's another story, sadly... but I still would like to think there is hope E1.gif

DDR is far from dead in the USA....what with Extreme, Festival, and Ultramix II being recently released.

(yes I know Festival is a JPN release, but since DDR is pretty much dead in Japan, one can only assume that KCET's unofficially going for the USA target market with it)

What? Release DDREX in America and then release the same exact game in Japan with a slightly modified soundtrack for the Americans as well? That's a good way to not get money.

In all seriousness, it's only a matter of time. I love both these games, and, to me, ITG has shown more promise, and has a lot more flavor.

Maybe it's because I haven't been playing the same songs for about a year and a few months, but, still.

What I dont get is why they or whoever makes it hasnt come out with a new mix. Theres like hundreds of more songs u can get on stepmania. Why not put some of them on DDR arcade?
Anyway I dont kno when exactly Ill stop. Maybe when I reach all my goals which is AA evrysong. But im still gonna play cuz its just plain fun.

DDR is Dead. Get over it.

Konami is supposedly taking a break from making DDR arcade games (It's a lie and don't let anyone else tell you different).

In the Groove is going to be taking the place of DDR in arcades within the next year and a half. Why would a new company bother making a new dance game if it knew that the most popular dance game is coming back soon...exactly, it isn't.

Enjoy extreme or whatever mix you have while you have it. I'm keeping DDR alive in my part of PA by pushing the owner of my local arcade to downgrade the 7th mix we have to 4th mix(the first mix we started with at the bvm). It can be done he's looking for a board and other parts that'll let us downgrade a newer mix.

The reason i'm asking him to downgrade a 7th mix is because we have a 8th mix in the same arcade. So who need's a 7th mix that's different from the 8th by only a handful of songs and a couple couses.

Every older mix in PA has been upgraded to 8th and we're all sick of not having any variety so it's time to bring back the old school mix that got most of us into DDR in the first place. That and the fact that we all miss Boom Boom Dollar! laugh.gif

Anyone looking for anything new in ddr had better look towards europe where a new arcade mix was released or towards your home consoles where the next mix will probably be released. Let's just hope it's not DDR Festival.

To tell you the Thruth....Pokemon aint DEAD yet...Just cause where you are people dont play or watch or do something doing with pokemon doesnt mean its dead. Pokemon is long from dead...so is DDR. Those machines are rolling in tons of cash, and once the relize that they stoped making money they will hopefully make another mix. But i doubt it the'll make another mix anytime soon. Maybe it will be called Dance Dance Revolution 2 <Insert title name here> laugh.gif
