Here's my story...
I'm trying to make a Pop'n Music controller, so I order the buttons from WICO. I get the buttons a couple days later, sat the 30th, and one of them has a defect, the nut will not go on more than 1/4" or so. So I call them up and they sent out a replacement. It arrives in a couple days and I open it up... Hmmm, what's this, it's not the same!
The old buttons, the first 9, all have a metal plate that goes under the cp they have a hole in them for the nut to go through. The new one has the huge plastic thing that's completely different and to be honest with you I have no idea as to how it was supposed to work. That didn't bother me too much though, the reason I decided against using the replacement was because it fealt completely different when you pressed it and also sounded quite different too...
So I send the defective one and the replacement back with a note in the box explaining that I want a replacement that has the metal bracket. A few days have gone by now so I give them a call.
Here's how it goes.
They answer. "Hi I'm calling about a couple buttons I sent back for replacement" "please hold."
This guy with a retarded sounding accent picks up.
(insert what I had just said to the first person here)
"Ok, yea, we just recieved those like 2 days ago. We will be giving you a credit shortly." From there I explain that needed to have the old style of the button, the one with the metal thing. He says that they're out of stock and they only cary the new style. Hmmm, well I guess I'll have to return this set and get a complete set of the new style then right? He tells me that he can't do that, that obviously I can't be satisfied and he will not sell to me any more! I say "well can you send back the defective button?" "No, I am not willing to do that." "I want to speak to your manager" "I am the manager. If you send back the buttons we will give you a full refund."
So yea, I'm pretty pissed at Wico. Fortunatly I got in contact with Happ and they said that their buttons are the older style. Their buttons are $26 a piece vs. $10 at wico but at least I can complete my controller... |

I find it hard to believe that a company doesn't want to sell you a replacement to a product that you bought... lol. _________________

The plastic thing is supposed to work *JUST* Like the metal thing.
The plastic buttons are more like the actuall pop'n Buttons, but, You will not tell a difference in gameplay (My red and green buttons are the metal mouse click type buttons).
The screw nut on the two different controllers are different, yes. Have you tried switching them?
EDIT: Try the controller forum . _________________
