The next version of the popular strumming and drumming games has hit the streets for two location tests in Japan for the next two weeks. Interestingly, the series is receiving a new naming convention similarly to Beatmania IIDX 11 RED (which no longer uses the nth Style convention). New songs feature some of Konami's well-known artists such as Des-Row, TERRA, and...Poo.

Wow! That looks suh-weet!
I just got into GF&DM (since DDR pretty much died in my area), and I'm hoping we can see this "V" version on this side of the world sometime.

I got it!
This took me a good whole 3 minutes to figure out: GF&DM is five years old now! That must be why they're calling it V!

thats awesome
but the nearest beatmania,drumania and guitarmania machines are like 100 miles away from me, and im broke so cant get it at home....sigh...maybe someday....
but thats still awesome that theres a new one!

| How long has GF/DM had that keypad looking thing? And sorry if this is a n00b question (I've only played a GF 2nd, and some older DM), but if it's not new, what's it for? |

for V, they mean vest (look on the machine). In japan, V and B sound very simmilar, so, they really wanted to say Guitadora Best.
Anyone else notice the "MAX" on the guitars? Oh no, couldn't be 
Seriously, is "poo" a well known BEMANI artist? I've never seen a song by this group/person/thing.
is it an alias of someone?

^ Playing with your idea got me thinking, You know how these new BEMANI games are popping out of nowhere? Maybe this could be the build up to the new DDR. Nice idea but unlikely. And I had an idea for a new DDR..I call it DDRIIDX or something incorperating the Beatmania titel because when you step on the arrow you make the sound. Beatmania but with your feet...

That's for the Japan-only (because of the internet connection required) E-Amuse system of personal memory cards for various purposes. Think Initial D, if you know that. |

Yeah, I play Initial D a little - thanks.
I would be amazed if one of either of these machines made it over here (at least the upgrades) - though I doubt it anytime soon, we can all hope can't we? |

No one is stopping you from owning an e-Amusement card. Konami is stopping you from useing it (and their games) in america.
Ever since DDR's mass-bootlegging and importing without licence (Some places did buy them for america) konami has been *really* touchy.

Awesome! But I have to agree with colin.... Most of us won't see it or play it in the arcades.... I haven't played anything over DM6th Mix in the Southeast. And now there's like NO DM anywhere in GA. =( (well, except for Crazy Nickels, but they only have DM1st.) I envy everyone that has a machine near them. Count yo' blessings! XD
