I wasn't really sure where to post this, but the "Official pump it up thread" didn't seem like the right place.

Basically, a person I know is opening an arcade with 3 PUI machines. Two of them are the second version, one is the third (My terminology is not that great, I only started playing PUI a week ago).

I know that there is a 4th version, and the new 5th version (Exceed). I was wondering if it's possible to update the software on these machines to have the new songs and such of the newer machines. Also -- change the sign above the machine accordingly is possible.

If anyone has any information, I'd find it most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

From what I was told, the Prex/Premiere series uses a different CPU (system) from the older versions (I think Premiere/Prex = Celeron, previous versions = PIII). Exceed uses a MUCH upgraded system, and runs differently.

And from what I heard, you can't just simply pop in a disc and upgrade it.

Thanks for the reply.

Computer hardware is cheap. That can easily be upgraded. Do you know any way of doing that? Is a software package available? Obviously buying whole machine isn't really an option, that would be too expensive.
