From the instruction manual: (translated via Babelfish)

About the jack cap of connecting cord side

There is a pin jack inside, but it cannot utilize other than the corresponding software. After the pin jack correspondence software selling, please read the explanation book of the corresponding software.

As for the jack cap when utilizing other than, please do not remove. In addition being to be the small part, furthermore you lose, are small the child mistaking, in order not to swallow, please note.

Please do not touch the pin jack inside. In addition, please do not connect the equipment and the like other than appointing.

I couldn't help noticing about that particular jack next to the cord. What does it exactly do? What corresponding software are they talking about? I also looked underneath the controller, and it says on the rating: DC3.45V 16mA. Which one's it referring to, the circuit board on the turntable, the adapter for that particular jack, or something else?

Thanks.

to my knowledge, it was designed for use with a never-released foot pedal peripheral. beatmania III featured a foot pedal, so it might have been for that, although BMIII never made its was to the home market.

if i'm wrong, PLEASE correct me; i tend to screw up my facts a lot.

Yeah, it could use the Drummania footpedal! All it is, is an extra Select button port, and touching it will not kill you E10.gif. So you can change effectors with your foot.

A ton of strictly at home users find useing the foot pedal easier to use then pressing the select button, as that lowered in the controller.

In Beatmania III, there are two (I think) modes. Effector mode (Footpedal effector, other then the IIDX Equalizer style effector) and foot play. In footplay, you actually had a row *just* for the pedal.
