|
My first DDR experiance was at an arcade when i was skating. I looked through the glass and there was this guy moving around really fast. At first i thought he was break dancing, but then i saw the screen and the arrows. My jaw dropped at i thought to myself, "I gotta try that!" The first song i did was butterfly beauase it looked easy judging by the difficulty pentagon. i was just like "WOW!"
What was your's like? _________________

DisneyQuest Orlando. They have the original, and once you are inside the place, it is free. I thought, 'Man, that looks so lame, but it's free, so what the heck?' Now I am hopelessly addicted to the game, all thanks to The Mouse... _________________

The first time i saw DDR was in hampton in summer of 2003
though I didnt actually play I thought it looked stupid until February of 2004 at the Solomon Pond Mall in massachusetts in Northboro where I played for the first time in Northboro I think. Since that day ive been non stop playing and got really good. _________________

My first was when I was in Happy Hampton arcade in like Jaunary '03. I saw it and thought that it was stupid and thought to myself, "You'll never catch me up there." Then in early August (same year) some one paid me about three dollars and said, "Go play it, if you dont like it, keep the other $2.50" So i got on, and spent all three dollars. |

MY friend was talking to me about DDR, and I'd heard about it and seen it on TV. It sounded so cool that while I was on vacation I bought DDRMAX for my PS2 and a scrappy mad cats dance pad. The first song I ever did was 'take it to the morning light' or something because I thought it was easier than it really was... and I ended up failing HORRIBLY.
I got better quick. By the end of the month I was doing things on standard and had mostly passed everything on Light. Ahhh, the nostalgia :3 |

Why do users have to act like mods?
Personally, I don't think this thread is an overlap with "share arcade experiences"... it looks more like a thread about "what was the first impression you had of DDR?" |

I'm debating this thread in my mind now.
i could tell you the first time i've heard about ddr and how excited i was to play it. or...this could just go in the Share your arcade experience thread
well since i'm here....
My first ddr experience was about 3 years ago. I was talking to one of my friends who recently went to Vegas for a familiy trip. Then he talked about this crazy ass dancing game.
I had no idea what the hell this game was, but i excited to try it out.
Then to my amazement, we received our first ddr machine in Albuquerque. _________________

Mine was when I was dating some guy, and for his birthday we went out for food, and there was a ruckers nearby. he thought it'd be funny to give DDR a shot. I remember failing beginners mode, and us all laughing at eachother.. then, about a year later, I actually bought the home version.. and have been playing ever since. |

Because mods can't be everywhere at once. Consider it being a responsible forum member. (And perhaps a secret desire to one day become a mod.) _________________

my first experience was when I was in a cast from surgery and my mom bought Ultramix for me because she wanted me to play it when i got out of my cast. My friend was on the pad that came in the bundle like white on rice. I was stuck with the controller. _________________

I think it's ok for users to act like mods, but I think that in this case, this is a unique enough thread to be its own...
As for my first DDR experience, I was in Las Vegas and I saw some guy doing it and I thought it looked really fun, but it was $2 to play, which was ridiculous. So when I got back from Vegas, I went to my friendly neighborhood bowling alley. They had some crap DDR Solo game or something. So, I played it. Yeah, first try I AAAAd 3 9-footers, and I was so awesome that the machine was like "OMG YOU ROXORZ!!! TRYEXTRASTAGE!" even though it there are no secret stages in DDR Solo. So It made up some 12 footer for me to do because it liked me so much, like...uh, Legend of Maxine, and I was like "I'll do it on one foot" and I did it so awesomely that the machine didn't even give me a score it just exploded in delight. True story. _________________

Wow that is the biggest lie i've ever heard! It's not possible ti AAAA anything no matter what. It is possible to AAA something though but definently not on heavy first experiance!!! 9 footers are considered catastrophics!!! It usually takes people years to AAA catastrophics!!!
That's why its a really big lie!!! _________________
