i would LOVE to have a way where you can sort by types of machines, not just pure location. i'm trying to find certain types of machines, and the machine locations in their current state do not make it easy.

thanks!

While it'd be a nifty feature, I don't know how useful it would really be, aside from looking for Other Bemani. I doubt you're going to drive halfway across the nation to find one particular DDR machine, and doing a text search on the State view lists all the available machines in your area.

If you could be a little specific as to what you want, I could get the info for you.

i'd just like to be able to know how close the closest whatever mix machine is. i do travel sometimes, and i don't want to have to look at each individual location to see which machines they have.

ie. if i put in a zip code or a city, i could have it tell me how close the closest max2 machine is or something like that.

make sense?

Well, you don't have to look at each individual location. The State view tells you at a glance what machines are listed at each location, so if you're going to a particular city, you can run down a list from that State of a particular mix.

For example - if I'm going to Terre Haute, and I've got a Ba Kkwo itch that needs scratching, I can just go to the page for Indiana and use the web browser Find to look for all instances of 3rd. That gives me two locations.

You can fold this into the search pretty easily. Again, assuming Terre Haute...I go click on any given location in that city, and copy the ZIP code. Run back to the search tool, punch in the ZIP code, and now you've got a list of the machines that are 10/20/50 miles away. You can run down this list fairly quickly to see what mixes are available within those radii.

The thing is, Extreme is far and away the dominant version out there now, and other versions just aren't that easy to find anymore, so the State view should be able to sum up the info pretty quickly.

Part of the problem with this is that I believe the ZIP code database is precached for each of the available distances, so searching on an arbitrary distance just isn't possible.

Maybe he means this:

Zip Code/City, State // Machines // Radius
----------------------------------------------------

San Francisco, California // Beatmania III 7th Mix // 10miles.

Where San Francisco is the city that I wish to search for Beatmania III 7th Mix machines in a 10 mile radius.

that does kinda work, but it is slower. also, i have found zip codes that are not found in the system.

thanks for responding though. perhaps i will manually compile a list.

Yeah, I know some newer ZIP codes aren't in the database, like for new Post Offices and some new municipalities.
